My wife had to drive home in that mess. 11 mile trip took over 7 hours, about 1.5 MPH average. Hope you are safely tucked away for the duration!
It took me almost 7 hours (34 miles) but I had to drop someone off who normally rides the bus. He would have been stranded at the train station. I used 90 pounds of ice melt getting cars out of my way so I could get home, and that included a police cruiser.
I saw some amazing things in the drive.
It once took me 13 hours to get from Fredricksburgm VA to Annapolis MD in the snow. It would have taken longer, but we took the surface streets through the middle of DC and cut off 5 hours.
she is adult and fully able to drive in snow, she after all is from the Pittsburgh area, we know what winter driving and hills are all about...she left her job at 1 p.m. and never got home until 11 p.m. then she parked at a shopping area and hubby came with 4xwheel drive to get her..as their development was so icy no one could drive in it..
totally un accustomed to snow, ice and winter cold...no one there even owns a snow shovel. lol now because when they moved there, son in law handed me his snow shovel and said ‘we won't be needing this’
and I was here worried, yes we parent worry about our kids, from the day they enter our lives until the day we make our exit. so I did not even pay attention to the dumb president with his prepared speech...and sounds like I didn't miss much...
THANKFUL SHE IS SAFELY HOME AND BOSS SAID ‘NO WORK’ TOMORROW..WE WILL STAY CLOSED...YEA she gets a snow day..
