Well, they'll have to find someone to play PLUTARCH HEAVENSBEE in the last two episodes of the Hunger Games..

Very sad. He was a great actor. I read that he had even been in a heroin recovery program last year, but obviously even that wasn’t enough.

It wasn’t long ago that an article appeared on FR describing how he had just completed rehab and was recovering well. Sad.
What a fantastic performance in Capote.

Fame, fortune and addictions don’t mix well. Seems all too common and add another case in point to the long list.

My brother-in-law’s first and last name was the same (minus Hoffman). He passed away a couple of months ago from cancer. Just a little odd and unsettling.

What’s weird about his death is that he was the victim of the dreaded Internet death hoax last week! When I herd this today, I kept searching to see if this was really true. RIP PSH.

I don’t know who he is, but it’s very sad. Poor man, caught in the darkness of drug addiction.
To: John W
I’ve heard of him but from the list of movies have never seen him. The extent of my knowledge about him was indirect, through a report that a tongue-tied Serena Williams referred to him as “Phillip Semen Hoffmore.”

I had to check his bio to see all of his movies. The only ones I saw were
Scent of a Woman and
Moneyball.
The strangest thing is that with both movies I remember thinking to myself that he looked a little "off" on screen. Something about him just didn't look right, and it doesn't surprise me to learn that he'd been dealing with substance abuse problems for years.
Great actor, though. What a shame.
