My TV is about 5 feet to the left of me, but I can not type without looking at my keyboard. I can however just listen to the TV and know quite well what is going on there.

I did look at some of the half time shows

This result just shows how strong the NFC was and particularly how strong New Orleans was, playing to within 3 of the Seahawks in Seattle.

“....or electing a totally unqualified man to run a country.”

.
That only happens in third world countries.

Why bring it up in a Soooooperbowl discussion?

Based on his Environmental-Wacko criteria, Rush had Seattle as the winner. That goes without saying as Seattle is the gay capital of the nation, and the Seahawk’s owner is Uber-Liberal Progressive Paul Allen ( Microsoft co-founder with Bill Gates ).

In contrast, John Elway is conservative as are the Mannings.

So why all the Manning hate I’m reading in all the Super Bowl posts here? I really don’t get it. Seattle played a great game. The Denver players played their absolute worst game collectively. Why jump all over Peyton Manning?

Peyton was his usual classy self when he said he wanted to win this game for Champ Bailey. I feel bad that Peyton lost this opportunity toward the end of his career.

I’m happy for Russell Wilson, but he is young and will have many more chances for Super Bowl stardom unlike Peyton.

Because that is the ultimate embarrassment and apparently doesn’t only happen in those third world countries that this guy so admires.

I really don’t get the point of your comment in a thread that is all over the place anyways.

Sometimes a team will leave everything on the field to GET to a Superbowl. When the big game arrives they have nothing left. It looked like that yesterday. It wasnt Manning that lost the game, the whole team looked like they were just going through the motions.

I realized a few years back that I did not enjoy watching football anymore for a couple of reasons. Leaving aside the ridiculous hype, the most significant reason IMO is the immense impact the officiating has in the outcome of any game. Mickey mouse calls that stall momentum, obscure rules coming out of nowhere to reverse big plays, etc.

I'm not suggesting games are fixed, but its a waste to become invested in any game that is so dependent upon the capabilities of the officials at the cost of the talent of the players. Its the way the game is structured. Too damn many rules.

In contrast I watched Downton Abbey and nothing before that. I was aware of the score sometime during the 1st quarter and at the half and even posted a comment on the live thread here on FR but hadn’t watched any of it up to that point. When Downton was over I switched to the game and watched the final minute or so left in regulation as the clock was run out. I then watched a small bit of the post game and called it a night. If it had been a closer game I might have been tempted to watch but my interest level these days in spectator sports is low and it once used to be quite high. I may watch some of the Olympics next week but I could easily miss the entire 2 weeks of coverage and not feel I missed anything. We shall see.

Perfect photo metaphor for Manning's game last night.

All of what you way is irrelevant. We are not in Church or a political rally. All I care about are results and Manning did not produce. He deserves all the negative comments ON HIS PLAYING. This is not some affirmative action thing where we praise conservatives for doing nothing. Quite frankly the liberal team owner won the game by skill and results. That is all that should matter. Sometimes you bring up the weirdest things. We are talking about Football....all I care about are results. You should too.

If ever there was a defense designed to shut down Manning and the Broncos, it is the Seahawks. I didn’t expect anything like what happened, but I figured the Seahawks would win. Manning completed 34 passes, so it wasn’t like he wasn’t doing his job. He was throwing the same passes he has thrown all year. The difference was that his receivers weren’t turning receptions into long plays. The other problem is that Manning was getting hit and crowded on every play. He was the wrong quarterback for beating the Seahawks, and short screen passes and picks are the wrong offense to throw at the Seahawks defense. I don’t think Denver so much fell apart as they were torn apart, and that was worth watching.

I stuck with it because I was enjoying watching the Seahawks' defense.

Their performance yesterday was a virtual clinic on tackling, pass rushing and pass coverage.

It was the most complete defensive performance I have seen from an NFL team in about 20 years. Those guys know how to tackle someone.

I watched the first five minutes, switched to a documentary on Prince Charles’ childhood on PBS instead. Much more exciting.

Did they mention the part where he was dropped on his head?

With that said, the Capitals vs. Red Wings hockey game provided much better all-around competition.

No, but they revealed that he could speak and read his native language German at the age of three.

Thanks for clarifying what I can talk about.

I thought this was a Rush thread. I guess it’s only ok if Rush talks about choosing winners and losers based on politics and lefto-wackies. Excuse me.

Yeah - it was a car-wreck. Not an interesting or competitive game at all.
