… that's idiotic. America is beautiful, and other countries know it — one would have an argument if it was our national anthem, but it's not.

Sorry. There was a time when we might have taken for granted that the commercial was paying tribute to our Beautiful America.

But those days are gone. I have watched the cultural leftists assault our American culture with multicultural attacks for too long now.

We have schools that don't allow displays of the American flag for fear of "offending" immigrants both legal and illegal.

We have a president who openly mocks the idea of American exceptionalism, which no American politician would dare have done 10 years ago.

We have a president who apologizes for our history, and who hung around with America haters like terrorist Bill Ayers and freaks like Eugene Wright.

We have too many politicians, educators, media personalities and illegal immigrants (and their enablers) demanding that they be granted amnesty, and calling us racists for wanting to preserve what is left of our own culture.

We have Supreme Court justices who go to foreign countries and advise them to look to the South African constitution as a model for structuring their governments, instead of the U.S. Constitution.

And we have judges and politicians who think that "International Law" should trump our Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land.

We have to press "1" for English, and we have multicultural linguistic ghettos across our land where English is not spoken at all.

And we have product sellers who woo Mexican customers by openly praising the idea of American soil being taken over by Mexico.

If you choose to be willfully blind to the obvious intent of that Coca Cola ad on a day that pretty much is a major celebration of American culture, then maybe you need to rethink who is being idiotic here.

I don’t much care about the super-bowl — at all. I didn’t watch it and usually consider it a waste of time, energy, and excitement/passion.

You’re right that there’s a lot of screwed up stuff in our society regarding patriotism/nationalism and legal/illegal — but that’s different than a single company making a commercial. (Note also that the Absolut Vodka ad you present is by another company altogether.)

Besides, I have my own opinion on how we could solve the immigration problem: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3117856/posts?page=102#102

Well said, you’re exactly right. If this popular culture is pushing it, you can almost bet your last dollar that it will be part of the leftist agenda-case in point, the Grammies. When something/someone accidentally gets through their wall, ie Tim Tebow or Phil Robertson, the reception from the mainstream media is very different, and not at all welcoming.

I don’t know why people, at least conservatives, even watch or support thugball anymore, anyway. Or most of teevee, period. Or actually pay good money to support Hollyweird and its America-hating perverts. That just means we’re actually paying the salaries of our enemies, people who would happily send us to the gulag if they could, without losing a minute’s sleep. It makes no sense to me at all.

And, one year I had the following in my homeschool:
One Philipino
One Native American
One Black
and two average white kids

We had a great time exploring each others’ cultures, including mine and the AWK’s European’s roots. We talked about how each nationality had come to America. And yeah, we studied world religions, too. Gasp! We even dealt with Islam...the day after 9/11.

OK, burn me at the stake.
