ObamaCare Will Remove Workers From Labor Force
Political Realities ^ | 02/05/14 | LD Jackson

ObamaCare Small Business

If there is one thing our politicians should have learned by now, it is this. No matter what law is passed, or what its intentions are, there is always the law of consequences, unintended or not. Every law that is placed on the federal register has consequences for the American people and the country in which they live. Every rule or regulation that is written as a result of those laws is loaded with consequences. That is a fact that can not be denied. Thus it is also with ObamaCare.

Many of us have said all along that ObamaCare would not be good for our economy. We have said it would cost some workers their jobs. We have tried to point out how many companies would reduce the total number of hours they allowed their employees to work because of the rules and regulations in ObamaCare. The President and his minions have responded by saying we are misrepresenting the facts about the health care law. As it turns out, it appears we were right. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), ObamaCare will likely result in many workers leaving the workforce or drastically reducing the number of hours they work.

Fox News - The long-term effect of ObamaCare on the U.S. economy was rewritten Tuesday with the Congressional Budget Office issuing a revised projection that nearly 2.5 million workers could opt out of full-time jobs over the next 10 years -- allowing employers to wipe 2.3 million full-time jobs off the books.

Budget experts say that because ObamaCare offers an insurance alternative to employer provided coverage, many Americans who hold full-time jobs may decide to work part-time -- or not at all -- and get their coverage from the exchanges.

All this time, President Obama and the people in charge of selling their health care law to the American people have told us this wouldn't happen. Whenever these concerns were raised before, the President was fond of saying his detractors were using fear mongering to stir up strive. He urged the American people to pay no attention to the reports. Even now, with the release of this  new report from the CBO, he tells us it is not true.

How many reports have we already read about companies reducing their workforce and the hours they work, all because of the rules and regulations in ObamaCare. One only has to do a cursory search on the Internet to find numerous companies that are doing just that. James Hoffa, one of the President's biggest supporters, has even admitted that ObamaCare is destroying one of the backbones of the middle class. The 40-hour work week, the standard by which all jobs used to be judged, is being slowly done away with for many companies and the employees they hire. (As a side note, I haven't worked 40 hours in many years. My work week usually consists of 50 hours.)

I now come back to the question I seem to be asking a lot these days. How much longer will the President and his liberal supporters keep telling us that these reports are not true? He seems to be in a constant state of denial about his presidency. He denied anything was wrong during his interview with Bill O'Reilly, claiming it was Fox News' fault that these lies were gaining any traction. How much longer can he continue to lie to the American people without the lies imploding his presidency?

I suppose the answer to that question lies with the American people. How much longer will we allow him to continue the charade without challenging the lies that he is telling. The proof that his policies are destroying the fabric of our nation is not hard to see. It is as plain as anything I have ever seen. The health care law, of which he is so proud, is destroying the very things that used to make us uniquely American. We worked hard at our jobs of producing products and supplying services that were needed. We are now being forced into a mentality of seeing how few hours we need to work so we can make sure we can receive a government subsidy for health insurance.

Tell me again how this is supposed to be good for America???

I laughed out loud when I heard the ridiculous White House response that many Americans will no longer be tied down to a job, like having to work for a living is a bad thing.

Worse and little mentioned is that these 29-ers will be sucking their “subsidy” out of the pockets of the tax payers.

Yet another class of engorged leeches.

The WH and the libs at the CBO are covering themselves. This Obamacare will kill jobs, but the libs, ahead of time, are trying to make it look as if the workers are voluntarily leaving the workforce. Some may be content to live on the dole, but others will want jobs that do not exist.

The actions of the Democommies and the inaction of the Repubs have assured the total destruction of the middle class. The middle class must be destroyed in order to establish the two class system, the elite and the peons. Guess who will be the peons. Wealth that would have transferred to your heirs will be taxed away. Because obozocare orders you to purchase insurance by force of law I see foreclosures in the future. Looming hyperinflation will destroy the savings of the old and the frugal because of the use of the printing presses to paper over government debt. I don’t see any good financial news on the horizon.

The one thing that may be a silver lining to these gathering clouds is these traitors have become so bold that now we know who they are. I am like Santa and am keeping a list.

“The actions of the Democommies and the inaction of the Repubs have assured the total destruction of the middle class.”

Inaction is action. One thing I learned early in my business career — not making a decision is the same as making a decision.

Look at the last administration. George W. Bush chose inaction when attacked by his enemies. As a result, by the time he left office he was viewed as ineffective by his supporters and a complete idiot much of the electorate. His failure to lead set up the conditions which allowed the most left wing US senator to be elected president.

We see the same thing happening today. By putting up token opposition and then folding quickly, or not putting up any opposition, the Republican leadership does not present itself to the public as a viable alternative. No leadership is being exhibit. No vision, no agenda, no consistency. It is the same old “we aren’t as bad as the other guys, give us a try” message.

In the current situation the party driving an agenda has no opposition so it wins at every turn. The Democrats are united in pushing forward, and have powerful allies in the media, while the Republicans have no core beliefs and no stomach for a fight. The results are predictable.

When Reagan left office, Kmart was the largest retailer in America. It chose not to fight the fast growing upstart Wal-Mart. Four years later, when Bill Clinton was inaugurated as President, Wal-Mart was number 1. Today Kmart is a shell of its former self and will likely be gone within 4-5 years. By choosing inaction when under attack, its management condemned the company to oblivion. There is a parallel with what is happening to the Republican Party today. Without new aggressive leadership with vision soon, we will have a one party state.

Sure - in this economy workers are going to give up a full time job to work part time so they can get a health care plan that isn’t any good.

These guys in Washington must think we are morons.

It was known, and therefore intended.
