Some people who are members of the health club Planet Fitness are finding their membership costs have gone up because of the Affordable Health Care Act.
A sign posted at a Falls Church, Va. location says "Holders of Black Card memberships will be required to pay a tax on these memberships Starting January 1, 2014 as required by the implementation of provisions of the Affordable Health Care Act. This is not a change in your membership fee but rather a tax required by the government."
Obamacare has a tax on tanning salons. It doesn't matter if the member uses or does not use the tanning facilities.

Where does the insanity end?!?!
Special tax on white people.
Why? Because so many oppressed blacks need to have an even playing field, that’s why. Amazing! They found the one thing that only whites use. What’s next? A tax on “Brylcreem?”
You bet it’s a tax targeting whites.
Pretty outrageous. Imagine the outcry if Congress decided to specially tax all fried chicken restaurants in the inner city. Just offensive.
Why don’t they just charge a fee each time someone uses the tanning beds ???
I'm a white person and I've never been in a tanning salon in my life. I also have a gym membership and have been a member of other gyms, and none of them have ever had tanning booths. I didn't even realize this was a thing.
Whats next? A tax on Brylcreem?
Just a little dab.
In this Mass. lunatic asylum I don't think many votes will be changed because of Obamacare.
What's the alternative? Vote for a Republican? - Tom
Every member makes more than $250k? Remember, there will be no new taxes on people making less than that.
What if someone has seasonal-affectiveness disorder and needs time in front of a bright light to offset feelings of depression?
Could someone pay the tax and then claim a deduction as a medical expense. Does this effectively make the gym a healthcare facility/clinic? If so, would too much exposure to the UV light create a case against them for malpractice. Would, would... (head explodes)
“Whats next? A tax on Brylcreem?”
Mayonaisse.
Blacks hate mayonaisse.

Put a 10% tax on hair straightening and see how that goes over.
——Just a little dab.——
Archaic usage.
In Obama speak the correct current usage is “smidgen”
If a black person joins a gym do they have to pay the tax?.............
Planet Fitness can expect some government attention soon...
Exactly
