Boehner Did the Right Thing

Flame On Freepers!!

Just wanted to say i think Boehner did the right thing. here me out my fellow freepsters.

notice, the debt thing just slid by. we didn't have to listen to Obama and cohort moan and groan, divert attention from all the really bad stuff going on. Issue is OFF THE TABLE.

yeah i get it, more debt bigger government, but at this point whats another couple billion when we got a legit shot at taking BOTH the House and the Senate. If we get that done, investigate, subpoena, impeach, go nuts on the SOB's. But if we don't take the Senate, we got Harry Reid and Obama doing more uncounted damage.

So, here in the real world, Boehner did the right thing.

Surprise, even Pat Buchanan agrees with you. Should have heard him on Cavuto. Some of his remarks about the debt ceiling vote:
“I can’t fault Boehner.”
“I would have done the same thing.”
in response to Cavuto asking about holding out for something in exchange:
“We’ve been up that hill before and it doesn’t work.”

And something to the effect that the republicans can hold the house and probably win the senate if they don’t do something stupid like shut the government down.

the debt needs to be substantially reduced...not increased .. and especially not when there are few, if any, visible benefits from all the spending (or stealing) they’re doing these past 4 or 5 years

it is not necessary to pay it all off. but we definitely need to show a reduction, not another increase, in what we all owe.... just to keep the ship of state afloat (so to speak)

else, we will sink (or, more accurately, we will have been SUNK by Obama and Comrades).

which is, of course, the design...

Anyone know where to find a list of the 28 jellyfish that voted for this?

LOL. The GOP always finds an excuse not to confront Obama. They even find reasons to help him, witness the amnesty proposal that also diverted attention from Obamacare and gave the Dems an issue to hammer the GOP. They will use the GOP's principles against every Rep candidate running and force them to take a position on each one.

The Stupid Party proves it lacks any real principles. Let's just keep adding to the nation's debt without any real restraint.

Sen Ted Cruz disagrees with you.

Here’s what Sen Cruz just had to say about this bill being passed....

“This is a mistake. Not a good sign when the bill that we pass, is the exact same Bill that would pass if we had Speaker Nancy Pelosi. That’s a sign that we’re going down the wrong road. In the Senate, I’ve already indicated my intention to object this Bill coming up - raising the debt ceiling with just the 50 votes threshold - I’m going to insist on a 60 vote threshold...”

I suppose that further ramping up our National Debt in spite of the FACT that this was one of the HUGE reasons why we gave Boehner the Speakers Gavel in 2010 is good justification to wave the White Flag of Surrender faster than the French Army ever did is acceptable to some.

Frankly, I think that Speaker Boehner and the rest of the House GOP Establishment Surrender Monkeys deserve to be Tarred, Feathered and run out of town on a rail. DERELICTION OF DUTY is something that I find to be completely repugnant and repulsive.

When one tolerates bad behavior, then one should not be alarmed when one encounters bad behavior.

“Another couple billion”??? TRY TRILLION. Of whose money? Those of us who actually pay taxes.

No big deal? Let’s just roll over and let the Uniparty system do whatever it wants.

The republican party's principles are the democrat party's principles.

Its time to face the fact.

Or bring up the subject of comprehensive immigration reform including the position that we should legalize the 12 to 20 million lawbreakers, i.e., amnesty.

Obama wants to change the subject away from ObamaCare and the ObamaEconomy..... Why help him?
Obama, the Dims and the press would just start chanting “Republicans shutting down the government AGAIN!”

get em off the table

Actually, Obamacare is front and center ON THE TABLE.

It is a winning strategy for us to keep it in the headlines. A debt fight would have knocked Obamacare out as an issue for several weeks. Not good.

Why would Obama care what the subject is? Do you hear the GOP talking about repealing Obamacare if they're awarded the senate?

I don't either.

when we got a legit shot at taking BOTH the House and the Senate

So what? Obama is still in the WH and the Reps won't be able to do anything except pass bills that will be vetoed.

Actually, Obamacare is front and center ON THE TABLE.

Did the GOP put it back on the table? Because the last time I looked they had replaced it with 'comprehensive immigration reform'.
