Napolitano: Impeachment Only Way to Stop Obama's Executive Actions
Newsmax ^ | 13 Feb 2014 | Greg Richter

The only way to stop President Barack Obama from nullifying duly enacted laws is impeachment, says Judge Andrew Napolitano. The problem is, neither Congress nor the American public have the guts for it.

"The president is doing the opposite of what he was elected to do," Napolitano said Thursday on Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto." Napolitano is a former New Jersey Superior Court judge and a Fox News legal analyst.

When Obama picks and chooses which laws, or portions of them, to enforce, he actually is telling people how to avoid obeying the law, he told Cavuto.

Even if impeachment proceedings were to occur, impeachment means nothing.

Sounds pretty defeatist since there is only one option left after impeachment for removing him.

"Ken Rex McElroy (June 1, 1934 – July 10, 1981) was a resident of Nodaway County, Missouri, near the town of Skidmore. Known as "the town bully",[1] his unsolved murder became the focus of international attention. Over the course of his life McElroy was accused of dozens of felonies, including assault, child molestation, rape, arson, hog and cattle rustling, and burglary.[2]

In all, he was indicted 21 times, but escaped conviction each time, except for the last.[2][3] In 1981, McElroy was convicted of shooting and seriously injuring the town's 70-year-old grocer, Ernest "Bo" Bowenkamp, the previous year.[1] McElroy successfully appealed the conviction and was released on bond, after which he engaged in an ongoing harassment campaign against Bowenkamp, the town's Church of Christ minister, and others who were sympathetic to Bowenkamp. He appeared in a local bar, the D&G Tavern, armed with an M1 Garand rifle and bayonet, and later threatened to kill Bowenkamp.[1][3]

The next day, McElroy was shot to death in broad daylight as he sat with his wife Trena in his pickup truck on Skidmore's main street.[2] He was struck by bullets from at least two different firearms, in front of a crowd of people estimated as between 30 and 46.[1] To date, no one has been charged in connection with McElroy's death.[1]"

Then they should bring up his fake background...oh, wait, maybe that wouldn’t be such a good idea...

Not really, if I get your drife. If impeachment were to result in “removal from office”, I’m there. Sadly, the two don’t go together, ‘else Bubba would’ve been gone after he was impeached.

I remember that case. Very disturbing. Not what we want, IMHO.

Even impeachment won’t stop him because he will just thumb his nose and continue on knowing that the Rats in the Senate and the LSM will cover for him.

We are experiencing the president the forefathers warned us about.

That’s exactly why Barry is doing what he’s doing. He fears no one and knows he’ll get away with whatever he does.

Obama has declared parts of this law null and void and therefore the government has no authority whatsoever to enforce any other provisions of this law.

Wonderful point.

IIRC, there is a law suit winding it's way through the courts that is challenging the legality of subsidies being provided in states where no state exchange was set up. The law is specific that the subsidies can only be provided to states that set up state exchanges. We can hope that when it comes time for Roberts to vote that he begins to rule on the basis of what the law says.

Personally, I suspect that the obama acolytes were able to blackmail him the 1st time around. Maybe after he's seen how the constitutional republic has been dismantled by these leftists he's ready to say I don't care what they have on me.

I seem to recall Obama himself alluding to precisely that. Wasn't it something about how if he were reelected he wouldn't have to worry about winning an election again? At the time most people just gave him a pass thinking he means that, well, he's basically off into retirement and can take it easy. But if you parse the words and look for the hidden meaning, it's pretty ominous.

Even if impeachment weren’t a fantasy, I don’t see how we have time for it starting from now.

If he can delay parts of the law until 2016 without even consulting Congress, then the next President can delay the whole thing until say, 2099?

At the moment, the Senate won't convict. I say impeach the Kenyan Marxist anyway. Keep him busy with legal matters, so he doesn't have as much time to destroy the country.

I wonder what Valarie Jarrett thinks about that idea?

As Americans, WE are used to patiently, and silently waiting for solutions to problems to come from the top down.

This lazy attitude has been the basis for most Corporate and Political Management structures in America for most of OUR History.

WE now have the ultimate in lazy, top-down, political structure: a rouge dictator whom WE allow to be above OUR Constitutional Law.

WE will continue to have the current Obama Dictatorship as long as the Chief Impeachment Official, ( CIO ), the Speaker of the House, is allowed by US to permit Obama to continue as a OUR Dictator.

In all of Obama’s public statements, he has told the truth to US only twice:
1.) “We are only five days away from fundamentally changing the United States of America.”

and

2.) “I have a pen and a telephone, and I will use them to issue Executive Orders whenever Congress fails to act.”

Obama has thus defined himself to be OUR Dictator, and formally gave US fair warning of his intentions to do so.

For reasons that border on High Treason to the United States of America, Boehner as Speaker of the House, has failed his Constitutional Duty to begin Impeachment Proceedings on B. Hussein Obama.

The Members of the US House of Representatives have refused to force Boehner to resign; then to elect a Speaker with the required Sense of Honor to do his/her Constitutional Duty to begin Formal Impeachment Proceedings on B. Hussein Obama.

If WE, the taxpayers, do not force the Members of the US House of Representatives to replace Boehner as Speaker with a new Speaker that will issue the necessary Articles of Impeachment on B. Hussein Obama, then WE, the lazy, silent majority taxpayers, deserve to continue to have OUR Liberties crushed by Dictator Obama.

The future of OUR Republic is, as always, in OUR hands.

DONT TREAD ON ME

That is incorrect. The congress passed an act that allowed executive orders, and it is maintained by an ongoing state of emergency. They can repeal it at anytime.

I don’t think you are even ready to know what I have the guts for.

There is another option: an insurrection to remove Obama from office by force. Sad to say that this might be the only option left. I still fear that Obama will continue to grab more power and by 2016 could be in all intents dictator for life.
