I love Ted Cruz, but I believe that after only 1 year in the Senate, he’s not quite ready for the Oval Office.

And after two years in the House West is????

Pence? I can’t see that at all for a multitude of reasons. He strikes me as a “light weight” version of Mittens Romney.

Then you really haven't looked into him at all.

I really do like Scott Walker. He has the executive experience added with the fact that he has faced down the RATs and the Unions successfully while the Media has fought him tooth and nail. I think that he would be a fine choice.

Agreed.

Given the fact that on the international scene, our status and image has been severely compromised by Obama’s weak and Anti America policies. We are going to have someone that has some serious experience in dealing with our Allies who no longer think that they can Trust us.

And West fills that bill how exactly?

Our military has been adversely impacted by actions that have resulted in diminished morale, unit cohesion and material/equipment degradations and that is going to require restoration.

Sixteen straight years of war and endless deployments will do that to you.

I’m hoping and praying that we can get someone like Allen West or retired Marine General James Mattis to step up for these very real challenges that lay ahead of us. Personally, this old Jarhead would proudly follow either one of these fine men in a full out assault on the Gates of Hell.

Then y'all go and assault Hell if you want. I'll try and help the next president repair the damage done over the past 8 years. There is a lot more that needs to be repaired than just the military.

“There is a lot more that needs to be repaired than just the military.”

No question about that.

However, we are now facing threats on the international scene that require that we be prepared to deal with. If our military isn’t fully prepared to face the coming challenges, then we are at risk. It’s not a question of “if” but a question of “when”.

“And West fills that bill how exactly?”

After 22 years in the Army, he’s been exposed to working with our Allies as well as dealing with our Enemies. Don’t overlook the value of that experience.

“Sixteen straight years of war and endless deployments will do that to you.”

Again, I agree with you. However don’t overlook the fact that Obama and his sorry approach in showing his contempt and loathing our military has had a deleterious impact across the board. The constant deep cuts in funding across the board has been intentionally damaging and must be addressed by someone who knows and understands the actions that need to be taken. Keep in mind that the primary function and responsibility of the Federal Government is the Security of these United States. Failing that, we cannot survive to deal with all of the other issues that we face.

I want someone who understands and is committed to the defense of our Constitution against all Enemies, Foreign and Domestic and that is willing to see that mission through.
