A man who worked for loss prevention was in Walmart and caught a woman shoplifting. What happened after that is the big question of how to handle situation like this.
The man did NOT work for Walmart. By no means are we condoning what the woman did, it obviously is wrong to steal. But did this guy go too far in shaming this woman or did he teacher her a valuable lesson?
At the end of the video, you can hear the guy giggling, almost like he enjoyed shaming her and catching it on video.
I guess it was probably near the end of the month or two weeks or whenever their EBT cards get charged up.
A black girl would have slashed his face open and ran.
Well, you aren’t wrong there.
hate saying it but it’s not his business. Report it to one of the few English speaking employees and be done with it.
As a “whistle blower” from the outside, he should have wanted to remain anonymous.
Technically, it isn’t shoplifting until she tries to leave the store with merchandise that hasn’t been paid for.
Notice she had two handbags. She was putting the merchandise into a new Walmart handbag, not the one she came in with.
While she may well have intended to steal the stuff, she hadn’t done that yet, and no crime had been committed.
The guy threatened to assault her.
The guy demanded ID, without any standing to do so.
The guy recorded their conversation without permission.
Lawsuit?
11 We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. 12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. 13 And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.
14 Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed. 15 Yet do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow believer.
Not supposed to make a public display of it, but to treat them a bit nicer. The problem is that society has taken the stigma out of so much that not many feel ashamed anymore and many who profess to be righteous are self-aggrandizing and do not feel the love that He commanded us to hold for Him and each other.
Wrong is wrong and stealing is stealing. What he did was right. You cannot shame these people enough.
This is what’s wrong with our society today. We have those that care only for their own needs and screw the rest of the world then wonder why no one gets involved when a crime is perpetrated on them.
We need more of him.
Exactly.
Also, she’s not a shoplifter until she tries to exit with the stuff. She could have pulled it out and checked out with it when she went to leave. Right? She committed no crime... yet.
Question is flawed because she’s not a shoplifter until she leaves the store. If she wasn’t shoplifting her reaction would have completely different. She was intending to but didn’t.
If they are not paying why do shoplifters choose Wal-mart? Whole Foods would be a better choice.
Maybe they would be obvious as not being Whole Foods typical customers? Also, there may not be a Whole Foods or other high-end store near that area.
My husband and I went on vacation to Kentucky a few months ago. The nicest store we found was Walmart, and it was a 16 mile drive away.
looked staged to me.
I busted a shoplifter in a Dollar General Store. I knew the manager but I never worked there. Waiting for the cops the guy wised off about how it wasn’t my business. I told him he was lucky I didn’t catch him ripping off my store when I was in a bad mood.
Free Speech ....he can ask anything he wants
“He’s got that mean sadistic bully personality that police depts. look for these days. Give him a donut and a military assault weapon.”
Yeah, could be a cop wannabe. “Where’s your law enforcement employment qualifications now, mister?”
It is unpleasant, but I am continually reminded of the pervasive evil in our society. I went to Office Depot to buy some ink cartridges for my Epson printer. The shelves were full of cartridges, but the ones I wanted were displayed with just a card. I asked an employee and he said, “Oh, those get stolen a lot, so we keep them in the back.”
Went to Wal Mart and they refused to refund my money, saying the card on my receipt was not the once I had in my possession. That is true, but I'm not the one whose cash register screwed up. I used to spend thousands a year at Wal Mart, but no more. They "stole" $30 from me in my opinion. Over my remaining life, I am preaching not shopping there, and expect my one man boycott to cost them six figures or hopefully, seven as I speak to family and friends
Wal Mart can go to hell as far as I am concerned.
