“We wish Senator Cornyn [the] best of luck in November and urge everyone to vote for, volunteer for and support the whole Texas GOP ticket,” Stockman tweeted just after The Associated Press called the race for Cornyn, with only about 2 percent of precincts reporting.

I think Cornball got a wake up call, if nothing else.

I disagree; I think Cornball will be more arrogant and liberal than ever.

No offense, but our country passed the point of a political solution in November of 2008. That really was the point of no return. It’s why I bought my place in central, rural KY two weeks before the election.

Oh, and I thought McCain was gonna win...

By voting for Cornball, Patrick and Bush, we are just handing it over to the Dems.

what is the problem with Patrick?

And that’s why I’m hiding in a little Revolutionary War fishing village on the Georgia coast where the nearest traffic lights are 15 miles south of me, 40 miles north and 35 miles west.

With just over 1/3 of the votes in, Cornyn is within 10% of having to go to a run-off.

Cornyn hasn't crushed anything.

Look at the source to see where the spin comes from.

SOS page shows him with 60.9% with just over 1/3 of the precincts reporting. He has been slipping ever since voting started.

There was no Cruz in this race. I was hopeful for a runoff, but this one was pretty clear awhile ago. In this process, we win some and lose some and pick our battles. I know a lot texans were hopeful, but no one had the skills or money to take on a high ranking incumbent. I lost faith in Cornyn in 2010 when he supported Crist in the Florida primary with party money. He’s definitely in the tank for Washington moderates. That said, there are worse guys out there and beatable guys this year. We have to narrow our effort and money to the two or three we can unseat, of McConnell, graham, Roberts, Cochran and our friend in Tennessee we need to knock off two to make progress. Three would be huge. We have to observe realistically which ones are possible and pool resources.

That’s the thing with Boehner being primaried by 3 candidates.

There is no runoff.

At least if Boehner only wins with 30,40 or 50% of the vote it allows a coalition for third party in some districts to sacrifice the seat for 2 years.

Very disappointed that the TEA Party didn’t come up with at least one strong contender for Cornyn’s seat. But he’s been bragging in his TV ads that he’s been fighting Obama...a lie, of course... and people who aren’t paying attention actually believed him.

So, do you think Pryor (Ark.) is a goner or a sure thing?

I thought conservatives were about personal responsibility?

Running merely as a Tea Party candidate and calling the establishment RINOs isn't going to win elections. You've got to sell your message to the voters and be passionate about it.

Although I despise Rove, I understand the premise of his message in that Republican candidates got to understand the issues.
