Cornyn crushes Stockman in Texas primary
Hot Air ^ | 3/4/14 | Mary Katharine Ham

A strange one, this. Rep. Steve Stockman said (sometimes ghost-tweeted) fiery things, but never really bothered to run a campaign, as far as anyone was able to tell....

Cornyn’s not liberal or progressive. He’s spinelss and ineffective.

He’s a careerist. Texas leans red so he poses as a conservative. I’d say he’s been very effective in advancing his career and enriching himself. He’s no Patriot, that’s for sure.

He picks his battles.

He battles only conservatives.

He is only one vote in the senate. He was the ONE VOTE that Reid needed to eliminate the debt limit. He came through. For Reid.

That’s the thinking that put Obama back in office in 2012. Wouldn’t we be better off today with Romney in office?

Do you really want to defend putting far left Dems in office simply because you have a disagreement on some issues with a candidate?

Radical Dems don’t cry, pout and sit out an election when their candidate doesn’t win. They know winning isn’t a good thing, it’s the only thing that matters.

Quite right. Cornryn is the point guard on the Washington Generals. The game is rigged so that the Democrats win. The Generals take the mike at the end of the game and say, “We were overrun. (Which is a version of ‘not my fault’)”

They are counting on our vote. Maybe Texas should go blue if we don’t have the people in the party to actually communicate a small-government, free-enterprise form of government.

To me, Cornryn represents a form of one party rule that is much more insidious and much less ingenuous than a Democrat that steps up and says, “I’m going to tax that hell out of you.”

Obama said, and I paraphrase, “We will have to take something from some folks in order to make sure other folks have a fair shot.”

I see what staying in your bed and sucking your thumb brings us. Romney was an awful candidate but I had a choice between him and a marxist, muslim whos plan was to destroy America (fundamentally change) and I voted for Romney. I would do that again.

I am in Texas and by the time we get to vote in presidential primaries the choice has already been made for us by other states. I don't know how we can change that but we should!

Who is the Dem opponent in November?

Are the Dems funding a libertarian to split the R vote?

What is the potential now for a Dem winning with a Clintonian plurality?

I’m torn between punishing Cornhole and having a H. Ross Perot moment where he hated the Bushes and made sure Clinton won without a majority.

Only thing I know is Matt Bevin beating Mitch McConnell would be the way to send a real message.

If the GOP takes back the Senate nothing will change with Mitch still in charge. Mitch doesn’t know how to handle Democrats like Dashel , Reid, Pelosi.

McConnell is a country club guy like Boehner.

Dirty Harry was educated by the Mafia in Vegas.

Yeah the contrast is not favorable to our side.

I don’t know how we can change that but we should!

****************

It has been changed........

Texas to have more prominent role in 2016 GOP presidential race

snip

The new rules will shave months off the nominating process, move the GOP National
Convention up from the end of August to either late June or mid-July and impose
severe sanctions in loss of delegates against any state that tries to jump the
queue and join the four states – Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada
– that are permitted to hold their primary or caucus before March 1, the
day Texas and several other states are scheduled to vote.

“Wouldn’t we be better off today with Romney in office?”

Not really.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1n_aB2JW_I

“They know winning isn’t a good thing, it’s the only thing that matters.”

The difference is that even when dems don’t win they still never give up, something GOEe never does. They always had a minority (but could filibuster) until 2006 in the Senate yet managed to block Miguel Estrada and others.

http://bunkerville.wordpress.com/2013/11/23/a-list-of-bush-nominees-blocked-by-the-democrats/

However GOPe not as difficult for Obama

“According to congressional data, former President George W. Bush actually had a lower percentage of circuit court nominees approved during his time in office than Obama.”

http://news.yahoo.com/are-republicans-really-blocking-obama-s-judicial-nominees-at-%E2%80%98unprecedented—levels-001414638.html

So what good is Cornyn and other GOPe if he never actually works behind the scenes for conservatism?

You are welcome and isn’t it odd, everyone wanted Stovall; but somehow Stovall got in there? Oh please.

I don’t stay in bed. I went out and voted for Romney. Then I was blamed for Romney running a lousy campaign and losing. Then Paul Ryan voted to cut vet pay.

You go ahead and support the vet pay cutters. I will wholeheartedly support those who defend my constitutional rights and vigorously resist the ramapaging marxists and their agenda. Deal?

I’m only sharing my thoughts of where I’m at now. In this situation. The entire bungled affair linked to the government “shutdown”, and subsequent surrender on the part if the establishment, not to mention their consistent backstabbing of real conservatives and outright support (via vote) of leftist causes has left an exceedingly bitter taste in my mouth. Bitterness that has even reached to the core of my pragmatism, causing me to question the very logic of it, much less the very usefulness.

Note the words I’ve used here. “Question”. “Bitterness”. “My thoughts”. And in my previous post, “it seems reasonable to ask the question...”

I’m not suggesting NOW, that people stay home and whine, (and of course not vote for a 3rd party I think that’s clear from my last post). If I were in Texas, at this point, I’d vote for Cornyn too. But I’m getting SICK of being FORCED to be pragmatic all the time, quite frankly.

Not because it’s sickening in of itself to be pragmatic, but because time and time again, the pragmatic strategy has produced NOTHING of any substance. Of course pragmatism, by definition, doesn’t produce every result one would like. But it should produce SOMETHING positive, otherwise I’d submit it’s just insanity (trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different result).

This is all I’m saying. Call it (and my previous post)’a rant if you wish.
