In the latest victory for firearms advocates, a federal appeals court has tossed out Yolo County’s policy requiring citizens to prove they face a threat of violence or robbery before they can get a concealed weapon permit.

Kinda bizarre the 9th Jerk-it court ruled in favor of us gun advocates. And, speaking of jerks, not certain who this Sheriff thinks he is. I bet he has a CCW. Hipocrisy on display.

YOLO stands (in kidspeak) for You Only Live Once.

Sometimes I’ve wondered this: Do counties have reciprocation agreements with other counties in California for CCW? For instance, if you get a CCW in YOLO county, does LA county honor it, and vice versa?

CA CCWs are good anywhere in the state, except where prohibited by state law. State law preempts any local law. Private entities are a different matter of course.

This all hinges on the prior 9th circus ruling being upheld en banc. I hope it does but am wary of expecting rights to be upheld by the judiciary.

I am not sure about it depending on Peruta. The reason is that CA attorney general Kamala Harris said that under the current CA license procedure, each sheriff was independent in the way he could interpret the law.

I know some are planning to issue with the condition that Peruta stands. But others may not attach that condition. I know for sure, that each issued permit which is later rescinded will result in ~4 votes against that sheriff next election. Husband, wife, a few relatives, etc.

If the number of applications gets to be more than a small percentage of the population, a Sheriff may decide that issuing may be more in his interest than rescinding.

Oh great, isn’t it wonderful how many great, small CC guns have been designated as JUNK...?

Now for a good small legal CC gun in Calif you have like...10 choices?

Yes, and there is still a pretty liberal giver in the north (Siskyou Co?) who will proffer them if you’re “doing business” up there in some fashion.

Maybe, just MAYBE, someday, we can get Kalifornia to accept other states' CCW.

Sorry, but I can hope, can't I??
