I found several counties in south Texas that had 0 republican votes.

Did you bother to look and see how many counties that had zero votes for the
democrat gov. candidate? There are more non votes democrat than gop.

Also noticed that their turnout percentage was pretty $h!tty too. Hope that holds

Altogether, 8 counties in Texas recorded no Republican votes in the primary.

But 21 counties recorded zero Democrat votes.

That's not to say that there are no Republican voters or Democrat voters in these counties. Instead, it means that there is no party machinery in these counties -- nobody to conduct the primary elections, staff the precincts, etc.
