[ Soros has been destabilizing Ukraine for years- lets see obama take his stuff ]

I don’t think that “Commander in Chief Pick ‘n Choose which laws to enforce” would actually do that...

You know something? If protestors behaved that way in DC, they'd be shot at.

You would defend unarmed protestors being shot at and killed in DC by Obama's (or any president's) government. I wouldn't. Not here and not in Ukraine.

And about the shooters? I'd need more information to be sure they weren't provocateurs.

I watched a long Youtube video the other day. Unnarmed protestors were be shot at and killed by snipers. There's no excuse for that.

Look at the world around you. Not one country is better off because the "peaceful protestors" got their way. If Ukranians didn't like their president, they should've done something about it next election. That's the whole point of democracy.

Yanukovich was impeached. He then fled the country.

You're more impressed with the thug president Yanukovich who is responsible for the shooting and killing of about 70 or more unnamed protestors?

If a bunch of "protesters" stormed the White House what do you think would happen? Would the capitol police shoot them... in which case the world could declare that "Obama is shooting unarmed protesters".

There are two (or more) sides to every story.

Of course I would not mean that what Putin did ISN’T evil. That biker gang coup is one way he was evil. True class would have been to court Crimea in the open, and Russia could have probably made a pretty appealing case to Crimea.

But I’d almost sooner deal with a few great obvious evils than a lot of little wormy subtle evils. And our present day Democrats are very effective at the latter.

The operative statement is “national emergency.”

It invokes all sorts of Patriot Act authority that has nothing to do with Ukraine.

And while we’re under all sorts of similar emergency powers already from past situations, this one makes the situation “current.”

Dangerous times indeed, especially since its being done without Congressional debate, oversight, or approval.

Yanukovich was impeached

That was due process? If only we could get our president out of office with those moves

Unarmed protestors were shot and killed by snipers.

You must think we're all really naive. Who stood to gain from those snipers stirring the pot? In most countries that had protests getting out of hand, it's been at the urging of the forces that would benefit from mayham, with the help of outside interests

Would you defend unarmed protestors being shot in killed in DC?

Actually, if they lit a wall of burning tires in the center of a city, yes. The protests had turned violent at that time, and were spreading out of control.

A lot of misconceptions being posted.

Here's one long log based on about 450 sources, of what happened over the ~4 months of protests.

I suggest folks read it instead of posting unsourced accusations.

He doesn’t have that authority under the Constitution.

Unless... has he declared war?

Putin brought a gun to the fight. Obama? A legal brief.

It better be very big, and very thick to hide behind, Barry.

“....including persons who have asserted governmental authority in the Crimean region without the authorization of the Government of Ukraine....”

That describes the protesters. They haven’t taken authority, but they’re “asserting” it. So are many in Crimea. So is Putin.

That would be the time for military higher-ups to refuse an unlawful order. I won’t hold my breath.

Notice he invokes IEEPA:

International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA),

Title II of Pub.L. 95–223, 91 Stat. 1626, enacted October 28, 1977, is a United States federal law authorizing the President to regulate commerce after declaring a national emergency in response to any unusual and extraordinary threat to the United States which has a foreign source.
