You’re ahead of me. I haven’t been to the Middle East at all, except to Syria when my mother took us back for a visit, when I was two and I don’t remember any of it.
My mother’s home town was destroyed in the recent conflict. I think a lot of Syria is now under rubble.
Get the tarps out; the libtards are going to get a bath!
Me too.
Steyn is best in the written word, but he is excellent in conversation as well.
I fear many of the roman ruins in Libya were damaged during King Barry’s little romp.
Syria is in tatters.

I hope to see Petra in Jordan some day.
It is a shame that Lebanon has devolved into chaos as well.
I had a chance to go to Cyprus but did not take it, and now that window of opportunity is closed.
I often forget that there are a lot of Syrian and Lebanese folks where we grew up.
Kids I went to school with in the 60s and 70s.
I used to go to rock and roll concerts at the Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh.
Ditto that. :)
My parents told me Beirut was known as the Paris of the Middle East. The 1950s was the time to be there; not now.
That’s cool. But you do know the Syria Mosque has nothing to do with the country, right? ;-)
Yep, but I knew you would know the place because it is legendary.
BTW..
Thinking back..
Some of my best friends were Italian, We called their Dad “The Whopper”, but his wife was Lebanese.
Her Name was “Desert”.
None of any of that stuff registered as a kid.
She was just and Italian wife to me, and the kitchen was running 24/7 in that house, but there were Grape leaves stuffed with lamb and rice right there in the pot of marinara with the sausages and meatballs.
I love where I grew up.
It was a lovely country and predominately Christian.
The key word here is “was”.
Italians and Middle Easterners often find themselves married to each other in the U.S. The food is amazing.
I love Mark! I’ve been down lately and I love his sense of humor.
The rustbelt is a serious melting pot.
Has anyone seen the Kevin Spacey version of “House Of Cards”?
I am engrossed in the original British version.
Francis Urquhart is a serious prick.
One of my morning errands was to take the CTC Laergrips back to the FFLs, and the CTC rep was there, examined it and declared that a diode was going bad. It goes back to the factory for full replacement - tried to get him to switch from red to green laser on Kimber 5” Rosewood grips - and he said “he’d see what he could do”. Woo-hoo.
The absolute best! Steyn is rocking today. No one can expose the dems for what they are better than Steyn.
