How did they know that she wasn’t alive to cast the vote herself? Could have been "Lawn Mower" guy who voted for her. Same person cashing any checks to come thru would be my guess.

The follow up question is this; How did they know that she wasn’t alive to cast the vote herself? They likely waited till the polls closed and then rang up people who hadn't come in over the course of the day.

You wait until the polls close. You find out how many votes are needed. You pull the list of people who did not vote. You vote for them. You keep doing this until you have "won".
