You’ll never convince NRA members that they have been “had” any more than you will persuade the little Republican primary voters that they too have long been snookered by “the leadership.”
As a member of the NRA and as a "little Republican primary voter" I would have to disagree about being "had" and "snookered". I would agree that both the NRA and the Republican party need to have the moderates voted out. Both organizations have elected officials I am proud of such as the "Teds" (Nugent/NRA and Cruz/GOP) as well.
I vote in the Republican Primaries and vote for NRA board members. It is an uphill battle on both fronts, but Im not willing to throw in the towel on either group. Both the NRA and my US/State reps hear from me as a constituent with my support or disapproval. I know it is only a drop in the bucket but I do my part, and I am sure you diligently do yours as well with your own methods.
