Unless the Ukraine can upgrade their military equipment dramatically in the next few days, this won’t end well for them.

You never know. They might have a fully-fueled, bomb-laden 777 at their disposal.

They cannot survive a stand-up fight. The solution is well known: Asymmetric warfare. Bet they have trained extensively for that given their proximity to The Bear.

But it still won’t end well. For ANYONE...

The way for Ukraine to upgrade its military equipment, it seems to me, would be for the US to supply it with sophisticated weaponry, with which to repel the Russian invaders. (In fact, we have a lot of equipment we are just leaving in Afghanistan.)

State-of-the-art tanks and sophisticated warplanes could do a great deal to deter Moscow. Sadly, however, I do not expect these to be forthcoming from President Obama, despite his overheated rhetoric (and that of his Secretary of State).

A few stingers and anti-tank missiles could serve as a warning to Russia but Obama already refused those.
