Prime Minister Tony Abbott has announced objects possibly related to the search for the missing Malaysian Airlines plane have been found in the southern Indian Ocean.
Good grief. I get a list of every number called on my billing statement every month and get online to check 24/7 the numbers I've called and I can speak to my carrier and their operator will tell me the numbers. If I can do that, these investigators surely knew number the pilot called and how many tiny bits of cinnamon he had in his morning mocha latte. They must know who the phone was registered to and have already interviewed the owner if he/she spoke with the captain. How about starting with his wife and kids' phones? Funny how we haven't heard a peep out of them....
If the number goes to a disposable phone, like a TracFone, the number itself would be almost meaningless. General location of the number could be of some value.

Any hope of finding out what the floating objects quickly appear quite slim.
The weather hampering efforts with cloud and sea swell and now Australian Minister David Johnston has given his assessment.
He says we will only know something definite within the next “two or three days”.
We all need closure from Obbabba being in the White House.
That pretty well describes my interest in this.
(I won't be out fishing until next month so I have plenty of time for TV watching and posting on FR.)

What does that even mean? What we need is to find out if this matter relates to a direct threat to American security or that of our Allies and if it does, deal with that threat.
I am very sympathetic to the families of the passengers and crew. Their pain and grief is beyond my imagination. But, "we all need closure?"

Four days went by before officials acted on satellite data showing Malaysia Airlines 3786.KU -2.08% Flight 370 flew for several hours away from the area being covered by a massive international search, people familiar with the matter said—a delay from which investigators are still working to recover.
The satellite’s operator, Britain’s Inmarsat ISAT.LN -0.35% PLC, on March 11 turned over to a partner company its data analysis and other documents indicating that the plane wasn’t anywhere near the areas on either side of Malaysia where more countries and ships had been searching for three days since the plane disappeared. The documents included a map showing two divergent north and south corridors for the plane’s route stretching some 3,000 miles from the plane’s last previously known location, the people said.
That’s just it, if the phone was registered they should already have interviewed the owner. If it’s a burner, then say so and which towers it pinged. What’s the most telling is what they’re not telling. They throw out little bits of this, change their minds, a little bit of that, change their minds again all without any follow through. They’re playing the public with oh, look, a squirrel! tactics. I can’t believe the msm isn’t holding their feet to the fire on all their flip flops and not following through. Just like not demanding to know where the wife is. Big deal, the guy called someone. That’s not news. He probably called a couple dozen people that day. A real new conference would be yes, concerned world, we have investigated this situation and found that he called his kids to tell them goodnight. Or yes, concerned world, we have investigated this situation and found he called a burner phone in Iran so we’ve moved him up the suspect list and currently have investigators zeroing in on the specific square foot area the tower pinged.
Truth! I pray and hope that God will help to reveal all this mystery in time.
I learned along time ago that God is in charge and things are going to happen without a lot of it being not known. The mysteries of God are sometimes heart breaking!

You don’t need your name, or real name to get a phone from the gas station (the pay as you go phones) up and working. This is how modern day drug runners communicate.

Sorry, I didn’t read your full reply. So, if the call the pilot made that day is important, they would at least have a general area, which might be meaningless.

My take is that a lot of "reporters" are putting out any semblance of news that they hear in the mad dash to be first and then that is immediately picked up and spread about at light speed.
What we see in Malaysia is chaos overlaid with incompetence and struggling to pull out much of significance with any accuracy is tough. But, the media is incapable of waiting for facts.
