Let's hope he doesn't want Alaska back.
I mean, if Czar Vladimir Putin decides that Russia was really screwed when it sold the vast expanse of Alaska to the United States for a measly $7.2 million back in 1867, he may now want to nullify the deal.
Treaties, contracts and deals mean nothing to the guy.
The man is on a role. He is scooping up pieces of the former Soviet Union as though he were old Communist Czar Joe Stalin. Old Joe gobbled up countries at the end of World War II as though they were war souvenirs. That set off the Cold War.
That long war, won by the U.S. and the West, led to the breakup of the old Soviet Union in 1991. Now Vlad the Great, who could be the grandson Stalin never knew he had, is trying to put it back together again. Thanks to the flexible, overmatched waif in the White House, he is succeeding

He wouldn’t dare. It’s one of the 57 states Obama lawlessly rules over.

Should it not be “On a roll”?
Interesting though.

“Old Joe gobbled up countries at the end of World War II as though they were war souvenirs.”
How convenient to forget that Roosevelt and Churchill offered them as present to Stalin in 1945, at Yalta conference.

If the threat were real, it would be great to make people think why America is better than Russia. I’m afraid of the too large segment of our populace that either can’t answer the question or doesn’t think it is.

If he tried, for once almost a third of Americans would find out where Alaska and Russia actually are.

Churchill (and Rosevelt) didn’t have much choice. The Balkins and Eastern Europe was a quid pro quo for being the meat grinder for the Germans. We (USA) provided the weapons and materials. The Soviets provided bodies; some 20m so I’ve read. Possibly the lesser of the evils on the table at the time.

Our great ally, Uncle Joe, took half of Poland, carrying out atrocities like the Katyn Forest massacre along the way, invaded tiny Finland, and annexed Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and part of Romania at the beginning of the war.

Churchill (and Rosevelt) didnt have much choiceBS. They could have unleashed Patton and easily driven the Red Horde all the way back to Moscow.

"He is scooping up pieces of the former Soviet Union as though he were old Communist Czar Joe Stalin".
What is it about this situation that is causing people to lose any grasp of perspective? As of right now, how much of the former Soviet Union has Putin scooped up? The Crimea was always going to be in one of two situations: 1) part of a pro-Russian Ukraine, or 2) part of Russia. To think otherwise is to simply be unrealistic. Russia is an aggressive country, to be sure, and one which operates out of a paranoia, due in part to being the largest country in a very dangerous part of the world. They may do a lot of things, but in all likelihood, the Crimea's transfer to Russia will be the end of this little saga, since Putin would be foolish to waste resources "scooping up" countries that are all cost, with little benefit.

Alaska is part of the U.S.A.
I can hear to stupid Liberals on both the Left and Right saying "Maybe He Should Take Sarah Palin with him!"
Do you know what it means if Russia invades Alaska!?!
THAT means world war.

The general tone of this author is too flippant to be taken seriously. He refers to Sarah Palin being able to see Russia from her kitchen window. Give me a break, please!

Treaties, contracts and deals mean nothing to the guy. Is the author talking about Putin, or Obama?

If Sarah were president I would agree with you. Under the present leadership, I’m not so sure.
