World Vision's American branch will no longer require its more than 1,100 employees to restrict their sexual activity to marriage between one man and one woman.
Abstinence outside of marriage remains a rule. But a policy change announced Monday [March 24] will now permit gay Christians in legal same-sex marriages to be employed at one of America's largest Christian charities.
In an exclusive interview, World Vision U.S. president Richard Stearns explained to Christianity Today the rationale behind changing this "condition of employment," whether financial or legal pressures were involved, and whether other Christian organizations with faith-based hiring rules should follow World Vision's lead.
Stearns asserts that the "very narrow policy change" should be viewed by others as "symbolic not of compromise but of [Christian] unity." He even hopes it will inspire unity elsewhere among Christians.

It is sad to think of all of the children that will suffer as this charity’s donations from Christians dry up... But there are plenty of true Christian charities dedicated to feeding the poor and helping the destitute that have NOT compromised their Christian character. Find one of those and continue to follow Christ’s command to help the “least of these”.
You don’t always know every pitfall till you try. Many missions do both earthly and heavenly blessings. God blesses even “failed” trials. But there is a point beyond which God tells us not to be bull headed about keeping up with an approach that only fails. Don’t waste resources casting pearls before swine.
It’s reasonable that if you are a small-o orthodox Christian church you should ask missions to be small-o orthodox as well.
I’m envisioning some kind of “take over” charity intended to pick up where WV left off, if the burst of outrage that WV sees isn’t enough. It’s worse, IMHO, for it to employ Christians continuing in known sin than to employ honest unbelievers.
Does anyone here know how to bump a story to the side? This story is a big deal.
O’Sullivan’s Law at work.
“Any organization or enterprise that is not expressly right wing will become left wing over time.”

That does not include our budget which our desire is to match with FPM.
How much does YOUR church or congregation give ?
Stop needling.
Mega churches shouldn’t brag about being mega. One way God provides nemesis to that is splits. Just a word of warning.
This is not surprising, I stopped supporting them a long time ago (15 years or so) as even then they were doing things that called into question what kind of organization they were. this just confirms that the slide continues.
I stopped giving to World Vision at least 20 years ago. Still, news of their disgusting acceptance of perversion sickens me. I’ll make sure the others I know hear about it.
I was told (unsubstantiated at this point) that MacArthur stated we Americans should send 10,000 missionaries to Japan after the war .... we sent Honeywell and GE instead.
I’ve ignored that organization for decades because of this sort of thing.
i.e. dog bites man.
It’s going to be interesting to watch which large Christian institutions align themselves with the forces of the anti-Christ. In the end it will all be about money.
Unity with sin? The penalty for sin is death - why would we want unity with that? This is why the Saviour died - to free us from sin, not become yolked with it.
ANYthing with the word “world” in it translates to “Satanic” ...
“For God so love the world....”
I know this is a different term applied, but be careful with blanket statements.
yep ... thanx
We run about 110 faithful, maybe 1/3 children under 18
