I wonder what that would look like. ‘The autonomous Republic of Alaska’. If they sent the oil west, they’d probably be allowed to live as they wished.

The Dems tell me that Alaska is nowhere near Russia, so I wonder how they would do an annexation.

Given that you don’t have to be Alaskan to vote on this poll, I suspect that PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome) is active here.

Young people may not know, but Russians were settling as far south as the San Francisco Bay Area. The Spanish were alarmed at the Russian settlements along the Northern California coast, so the Spanish beefed up fortifications at San Francisco. All the Russians wanted were pelts from animals, and had no real interest in the land, and made trade deals with the Spanish.

So maybe this petition will gain merit far south from Alaska!

Gee, didn’t the Russians once claim the Canadian northwest and Washington, Oregon, and northern California?

This may be our chance to rid the leftist states of Washington, Oregon, and California. We might want to toss in Hawaii for a warm weather port of the Russian navy.

Maybe we can interest Canada into taking New York and New England in exchange for what the Russians would get and for the remaining provinces west of Ontario which we would annex.

Hey, Russia has a 13% flat tax!

If they can keep their Alaska oil checks, this would be a big deal for them!

Can we get such a petition for Virginia. Seriously If we are going to be commies we might as well have a true commie leader instead of a fruit cake.

An independent Alaska could probably get a defense guarantee from Russia. If Alaska seceded, it could spur a wave of secessions in the lower 48. A rebellious Alaska would suck up a disproportionate amount of the US military’s resources because it would be relatively difficult to supply troops, hold territory, and eradicate guerrillas.
Although I do not think that the time is ripe for this type of action, future events might make such a scenario necessary. An economic collapse and/or global war would lead to martial law and unprecedented tyranny. In that case, there would be no choice but to oppose the elites and Feds.

Secede and become an independent nation maybe, but join Russia?
That does not seem like much of an improvement.

If this happened, Tina Fey would really be able to see Russia from her house and she’d have to get a new joke.
