Influential Republicans working to draft Jeb Bush into 2016 presidential race
The Washington Post ^ | March 29, 2014 | Philip Rucker and Robert Costa

LAS VEGAS — Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race, courting him and his intimates and starting talks on fundraising strategy.

Concerned that the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal has damaged New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s political standing and alarmed by the steady rise of Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), prominent donors, conservative leaders and longtime operatives say they consider Bush the GOP’s brightest hope to win back the White House.

“He’s the most desired candidate out there,” said another bundler, Brian Ballard, who sat on the national finance committees for Romney in 2012 and John McCain in 2008. “Everybody that I know is excited about it.”

That's right...He's just as desired as McCain and Romney...

Morons...

NO! We need to unite in the primary behind the most conservative candidate that stands a chance of winning to keep this from happening!

The same Jeb Bush who acquiesced to Terri Schiavo's murder. Not just NO!

Pure baloney.

Nonetheless...this makes no sense...regardless of his individual qualifications, it is way, way too soon for someone else named "Bush" to try to make a run for this. Rightly or wrongly, the previous Bush left office with high negatives. This makes no practical sense whatsoever - not a fresh face on the scene at all to appeal to the electorate at large. Even the establishment surely has better options than Christie or Bush to present.

This is ridiculous.

Yeah, that’s absurd...she was excited by McCain and Romney previously?

Exactly. There’s a reason the Bush family suddenly came out of hiding and have been on the tv. It’s all window dressing. The Rovians want him and are h*ll bent on shoving him down our throats.

once Romney got the nomination, many here supported him and blamed those who did not for obama’s win.
I will not support Bush, Christy, et al and make that mistake again. the chips will have to fall where they may.

They had to nominate Romney. He's so darned electable. After all, he was the only one who could defeat Obama!

Of course, I'm being sarcastic.

Both Rush and Hannity have said that the GOPe is looking for a way to lose the Presidential election, and nominating Mr. Bush might be it. If Mr. Jeb Bush in nominated, the GOPe will lose the House and Senate at the same time.
Only a true fool or a clever Liberal Democrat would give funds to Mr. Jeb Bush and his presidential campaign.

Well if you do want something better then Jeb, you’re going to have to do better than the herd of fighting cats that cleared only to leave the wonderful Mitt Romney standing. Jeb and GOPe has most certainly observed how that happened, and would hang back if necessary to try to do it again.

At the least, primaries are going to have to get pumped in parallel all over the nation. We can’t be hoping for chain reactions that may never happen.

Fact: Jeb Bush can’t win the general election for the Presidency. He couldn’t beat Obama right now.

The GOPe is delusional. Because the big money is pushing him they actually think he is electable. The big money sees Jeb as a win win. He is pro-amnesty liberal. Any Democrat will be a pro-amnesty liberal. All the big money (on both sides) wants is a pro-amnesty liberal. In the very unlikely event he wins the general that’s fine, but they don’t care if he loses because they still get amnesty. But a conservative American that will enforce our borders is the last thing they want. Handing the nomination to Bush will stop the possibility of that happening. win or lose.

As everywhere else in life and politics, follow the money. The big money backing Bush is completely *amoral*. They don’t give a sh1t about America, or any other country for that matter.

High negatives? Bush finished with only a 27% approval! which of course
paved the way for Zero.

Sorry GOPe......No longer will I ‘vote’ for the Party as long as you keep putting up these shills.

All “WE” are doing is facilitating you and ‘pumping’ up the Numbers to make it look like the NONE Conservative was a lot closer than ‘they’ think.

“They” didn’t believe ‘us’ when we said NO to McCain but Palin at least kept his results ‘competitive’. Then “WE” (enough of us) ‘went along’ with Mitt and again, it kept the #’s competitive, I really believe that until the GOPe candidate gets CRUSHED by 30 or 40 points ‘they’ will think they are ‘winning’—or think they are doing the right thing - always blaming on the 20 or so Mill R’s that ‘stayed home’.
Someone has to point out the 20 or so Mill R’s that in actuality are C’s.-— not voting completely DESTROYS ‘your’ choice.

Too bad we can’t have some kind of consorted effort to write in someone OR some’thing’ (Mickey Mouse etc) and do it in a manner that the results will have to be published BUT “WE” have to NOT vote for the GOPe candidate just because he calls himself an “R”.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!
