Big money GOP donors are reluctantly leaning toward former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for president in 2016, said talk show host Joe Scarborough.
"The whispers are out there. You hear it among top [Republican National Committee] donors. There is not an excitement. I'll be really honest with you. Nobody's going, 'Oh, we got to get Jeb,'" Scarborough said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Monday.
Donors are eyeing Bush because they see him as the only nominee who could beat presumptive Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, Scarborough said, adding that contenders like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz aren't considered viable against the former secretary of state.
"None of these big donors think Rand Paul is going to win. None of these big donors think Ted Cruz is going to win. None of these big donors think, fill in the blank, you name it," Scarborough said.

I don’t think Jeb Bush would be popular in primaries, going through that whole process. Even if there are backroom deals, I don’t think he could win Iowa for example. New Hampshire? The first two primaries, I don’t know.
The good news is that while the GOP-e, DemocRATS and the Men Seeking Men media (but I repeat myself) are focusing all their time, energy and money on the Presidential race, Conservatives are taking Governorships, statehouse and local races from coast to coast.
Conservatism aside (and in the Bush family, it certainly seems to be) the biggest thing that makes Jeb non-viable is his surname.
Baraq has performed the most complete smear of his predecessor in the history of the Presidency, thanks to a sycophantic media. Jeb Bush could be Reagan/Cruz squared and he’d never have a chance in a national election. The LIVs would just see his last name.
Of course, in reality, conservatives see his last name too and simply say ‘no’.
True. If by winning you mean payrolling a RINO who the ptb can manipulate into keeping a constitutional conservative from being nominated, maybe Jeb can get it done. After that, victory accomplished....they can sit out the election.
Cruz/Paul or Paul/Cruz is the only way to block it.

So you measure Jeb against the previous runners (Romney and McCain). It doesn’t take much for a guy to feel convinced on Jeb. No corruption factor like McCain. No nut status like McCain. No Mormon issues like Romney. No business dealings like Romney. No richness like Romney.
Pardon me....but if you were looking for a winner that independents could feel secure about....Jeb fits. Other than the name....he hasn’t screwed up.

The problem is that if the GOP-e's pick loses, they just change the rules, etc. in midgame to get the result they want. Case in point: Rick Santorum won Iowa... which we didn't find out until weeks later, when it was too late to matter. Instead, the GOP-e made big fanfare that Romney "won", and that was really all he needed from that point.
Hasn't really done much other than be a Bush.
I wish someone would post the names of these alleged “big GOP donors” everyone talks about. Big money doesn’t translate into big intellect, obviously.

The Bushes have exposed themselves back stabbers. They hang out with the Clintons. You know birds of a feather. I’d rather see Hilary in the white house: at least I would know what I was getting.
Honestly, I am sick of these corrupt politicians who feel they have a right to plunder my life and the dreams of my children. More than that, I am sick of ignorant, stupid, suicidal Americans who hop from party to party fornicating with anything that moves and then expect the rest of us to pick up the tab for their lifestyle choices. These people enable evil to remain in power.

I can just see the Dems slogan in 2016: "Clinton was the last of the president during '90's-era Prosperity'... Bush was the last name of the president who made you lose your job and your 401(k)"...
None of the things you listed were the major problem with Mitt Romneycare.
Mitt Romnycare’s huge negatives were
1. Homosexual agenda, because as governor of Massachusetts he invoked Homosexual marriage by executive order and pushed the Boy Scouts to allow gays.
2. Abortion. This guy hosted Planned Parenthood fundraisers.
3. Socialized medicine. We would still have gotten the Affordable Care Act, only it would be an anchor hung around conservatives necks instead of being hung around liberals necks.
The people who refused to vote for Mitt Romneycare understood just how bad this would be. Those willing to compromise, well, they fully deserve what they are getting in Obamacare because they voted for it.
And the GOP-E is definitely dumb enough to fall for it. Look at 2012, when they nominated the father of Obamacare and gay ‘marriage’ to run for President.
Oh Boy the GOP elites have done it again—at least that’s been the buzz on the web. Another Bush! They have not only shot themselves in the foot—but I really think they’ve shot themselves between the legs with a bazooka. Do we really want another Bush? Christie is a moderate Republican that conservatives have never been too crazy about — I think his tough guy image was what got him elected. Yeah, he’s still wounded from the whole bridge fiasco — but if he has the right handlers, they can depend on the average voter being afflicted with our national disease ADD. Most people have the memory of a mosquito. The Dems really only have Hillary to put up -and God help anyone who gets in her way. She will defend her “right” to the White House to her death. Will Obama help her? Of course, because if he doesn’t she could be nasty enough to drop some amazingly embarrassing info on him —and whatever legacy he does have will go into the outhouse cesspool (ooh I forgot, we’re still in the US, not Kenya). The Clintons and Obama really can’t stand each other. Curious to see how this plays out. Establishment will not support Cruz or Rand Paul, and they are so fixated on putting up a moderate just because they think that will attract moderate independent voters. So boys, you’re gonna do what you’re gonna do. I ain’t voting for no Bush. They forget, traditional conservatives will stay home and those who are more in the libertarian, paleo-con camp like myself will also stay home or vote for some dude on the Libertarian or Constitutional Party line.
Without arguing any other point (of which there are plenty), Jeb Bush’s open love of amnesty and common core brand him as worthless.
The GOPe may find a way to cheat him into the nomination (difficult as things are right now, but it could happen). But he is absolutely not electable in the general.
Not..a..chance..in..hell.
Even for those like myself that are definitely not “one issue” voters, pro amnesty is a 100% deal breaker.
Ted Cruz or bust.

Really Joe? You think this country is going to elect another Bush as president? After W no one named Bush will ever be elected president again. Heck the democrats are STILL running (and winning) against G.W.Bush. Still! Forget it karl, Jeb ain’t gonna happen.
