A wave of more than six feet in height has hit the port of Iquique in Chile.
It is a key copper exporting port, close to the country's main copper mines.
Mining companies Codelco and BHP Billiton said that had not yet received reports of damage to mines.

Some reports claim the wave which hit the Chilean coast was as high as 7ft.
Tremours from last night’s earthquake were felt as far away as Bolivia.
When did this happen? At the link it says 2:17 a.m. Then there’s a video at 2:50 a.m. that looks like broad daylight.
A six foot wave?! That’s pretty routine around my home
in Charlevoix,Mi., on Lake Michigan.(No earthquakes though).
This “wave” might be 100 miles wide. Think of it like a storm surge in a hurricane.

They're saying that the main wave is supposed to hit in about 30 minutes from now.
Professionals surf on waves up to 20 feet high according to a search.
Some smart Chiliean needs to set up a live cam on Youtube and rake in the ad clicks!
This isn’t a wave that goes up and down. The entire ocean level seems to rise 7 feet, then it just keeps coming... and coming... and coming.
Imagine if the sea level suddenly rose by seven feet. The force can wash away an entire town and kill thousands.
A six foot tsunami wave would be more like sea level suddenly rose six feet and stayed there for hours. It doesn’t just break and then it’s over.
