excellent post, and I'll add that the posters modus operandi is to continually bash Libertarians from thread to thread....making blanket assertions on libertarians.

It's intellectually dishonest...this guy harbors the seed of division

Newsflash - BO didn't win with just the dem votes - some of his dear conservative republicans voted for the fool by sitting out on mccain.

whats amusing to me is that I've been accused of supporting abortion, gay marriage etccc.....I haven't had the heart to tell him I'm a retired pastor from an ultra conservative Methodist sect LOL.

Indeed the founding fathers spoke of the “blessings of liberty.”

Some folks’ elevators just don’t seem to go to the highest floor.

If there’s a dearth of God in the land today, maybe it’s because people let the Earthly Nanny push Him aside!

It all goes back to where Lucifer said he was going to exalt himself over God. That went over like a lead balloon in heaven. There was plenty of room for him to take advantages of opportunities to exalt God but he wasn’t happy with that. Lucifer schemed against mankind and enticed it to fall with the temptation which played out in the Garden but which spiritually encompassed all souls. Humanity could “know good and evil” rather than waiting for God to show them. This was impossible, if only because timing was an integral part of it and omniscience would be needed to coordinate it to success.

Secular humanism knows about this impulse. It’s the Nietzschean “will to power.” That’s how the lost world works.

When you get to know God you can begin to apply some wisdom that comes from sharing in a Spirit that is omniscient.

Skeptics such as our dear friend Ansel12 (for all his lies) have an admirable end in view. Certain evils are visible to them and they want them gone. However, because of original sin, they can only see one way of dealing with the issue and they also can’t see other issues that complicate the picture. There’s no use trying to storm Jericho if the walls have not come tumbling down. You’ll wear yourself out at the walls. And no, “God graffiti” on the walls and hurling spitballs over them is not much of a victory.

There is one way that our modern US government has taken our liberties and that’s by stealing our taxes to exalt itself. I had an opportunity not many weeks ago to be within the belly of the beast. It was illuminating. I hired on at a government contract for administering a state/federal benefits program. Man, they took their sweet time about authorizing me into the production computer system. Eight weeks and still nothing, paying me for thumb twiddling, so finally (because the boss ignored my emails) I stuck a post-it on the boss’s computer screen asking for the access to be granted. (I needed to be able to see certain production data.) Well that was too eager for them. I got kicked out. I had not silently played the charade; I actually wanted to give the taxpayer at least some value for what they were paying to have me there.

This government steals. Exalting itself is not on the authorized constitutional agenda. That has been arrogated, from original sin. A good candidate (and I’m not surmising to predict whether that would turn out to be Paul, or to be Cruz with some new clues) would realize the worst sin of the government is violating “thou shalt not steal.”

Stealing our resources hampers our liberty; and because we have acquiesced to it in a government whose Constitution begins “We The People,” the curse for having stolen comes right back to our doorstep. God just sits there and lets us try to cope with our much diminished economy and paychecks, not moving to break us out of the cage we have constructed for ourselves. Something similar was foretold when God told the Israelites that having a king would get their income dinged by 10% (then, a huge number, now we would be thrilled if it was only that bad).

We are right to hate the adultery; we are right to hate the murder. But the government of “We The People” has rendered itself weak by the stealing! It can only trim around the edges of such things.

God will forgive the stealing. But it needs to be stopped to let us out of the trap. I could envision some kind of government bureaucrat outplacement program. It could even be generous, but would require the bureaucrats to be employed in something gainful, supported by private enterprise that isn’t merely government fed. And as the productive workforce grew, so would the economic prospects of the country.

Now what does that have to do with murder and adultery? Well, as I have pointed out, the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. ALL KINDS. We’ve been busybodied into acquiescing as a people to these evils under government auspices. Now in this system, in practice the keynote is struck by the US Supreme Court. If people of America became sober again and stopped being deficit spendaholics, and instead trusted in what God has invested, the tone would soon find its way back to the US Supreme Court. We’d see greater rights to refuse faux “gay marriage.” We’d see greater rights to protect the life of the unborn. There would be no more perceived need to cover the walls of Jericho with God graffiti and hurl spitballs over them. The righteous would burst in and many evils would be vanquished, without need to complicate the law codes with every conceivable “thou shalt not.”

In other words I’d tell Ansel12 and his ilk: We’ll see your fevered revision of the country’s law codes and raise you, like, a couple of constitutional amendments. Pro-life, and marriage. How would that grab you?

You are the troll who is posting behind my back on thread after thread, I keep stumbling on your libertarian posts where you are feverishly posting about a freeper without letting him know, that is the behavior of a troll.

You claim to be a Minister, evidently a libertarian Minister, perhaps you should engage some of our pro-life, pro-marriage, 'conservative' Christian Ministers.
