Ho hum, and the Posse Comitatus act says "Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both."

You said it, “Ho Hum”. There is not Posse Comitaus if there is nobody to enforce it.

What about the Navy and Coast Guard?

So, basically - any police department that has an MRAP is committing ongoing felonies in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act.

Even trying to read it strictly I have a hard time seeing it to mean surplused materiel rather than personnel.

Still it’s all about egos now, something that God explicitly will NOT bless. And really earnest crooks will probably find ways to hinder such equipment. Just out of spite. Smokey and some very evil bandits.
