A Nightmare Presidency
American Spectator ^ | 4/9/2014 | Ben Stein

Posted on 04/09/2014 2:26:35 AM PDT by Unam Sanctam

This is a bad morning. I was greeted by a headline in the New York Times that said Defense Secretary “Chuck Mullet” Hagel was planning to submit a budget to Congress to cut the size of the military to a level not seen since 1940, before the U.S. entered World War II.

The article went on to say that the Pentagon realized that this would be an inadequate force for even very small wars and certainly would not allow the U.S. to police the world and keep control of contingencies like a North Korean attack on the South or a Chinese attack on Japan or an Iranian assault on Saudi Arabia or a Russian invasion of the Ukraine.

The Defense Department officials further said that because U.S. forces would be stretched so thin, the U.S. could not win wars quickly and there would be more casualties in any future war.

So, in other words, the President (of course it’s not Hagel…he’s just a bobble head for Obama and his ultra-leftists) is deliberately disarming America to the point where he cannot guarantee his ability to defend the nation.

Now, my wife says this is just plain treason. I don’t know if she’s right because the Constitution has a fairly strict definition of treason. But it is surely the grossest kind of betrayal of country. This kind of action is the kind taken by a man who hates the country of which he is president. To knowingly lay bare the life of American fighting men to our enemies is something a lot like murder.

In a way, it stuns me. In a way, it horrifies me.

But in another way, it does not surprise me at all. Mr. Obama has never liked America...

I endorse that dream!

I think Hillary has been hired to play “tease” as a way to keep the President’s campaign open until Michelle Obama announces she will run in 2016.

Michelle needs to preserve Obama’s “legacy” donchaknow?

We knew that Hagel would do exactly this. This is no surprise.

I don’t know why people like Stein say Hillary is unbeatable. She has no record, no accomplishments and a load of baggage.

Plus she’s old and ugly, this matters. Fat guys used to get elected President, not since tv (sorry Chris and Huck!). As I’ve said many times I don’t think she’ll even win the rat nomination, image is more important than ever. He gut tells me she may not even run.

As for treason, Ben Stein endorsed Al Franken for Senate because they are personal friends, so Stein is guilty of treason himself. If I were a conservative website or publication I would not run his column unless he apologized for that. Weird guy, Stein.

One should never forget that more than fourty per-cent of the electorate loves what Progressives are doing.

(They’re all around you, just like the zombies in movies. )

And check the cuts in military vs. the growth of DHS, etc. probably a wash. So he has accomplished his goal of National Security Force and we are seeing it in action in Nevada.

“A Nightmare Presidency”

If anyone thinks this is bad, wait until the Progressive spinning machine turns out propaganda that will sway more than fourty per-cent of the electorate to their corner.

(Not to mention the usual large number of votes that come from cemeteries and the technicalities applied to the military vote which prevent their acceptance in the vote count.)

IMHO

He probably has contact with many hardcore liberals who would rather walk on hot coals than not vote for Hillary.

(Their loyalty to her is something to behold, as if they were speaking of their messiah; absolutely disheartening.)

IMHO

Neither do his supporters.

I’m predicting here that MD Gov. O’Malley will be the RAT nominee in 2016.

Ben Stein is a traitorous slut; the only reason I don’t recommend him for EINSATZGRUPPEN is because he was on “The Wonder Years”, my favorite show of all time.

RE :”Ben Stein is a traitorous slut”

Yep, he's a reason I don't watch Cavuto’s Saturday show.

He has a long history of liberal positions.
I remember him calling for congress to pass a stimulus in 2009.

He's a lib.

That he got his start under Dick Nixon tells you all you need to know about his conservative bonafides. He should leave pundrity behind and become spokesman for "Trayvon Hemorrhoid Cream"

>> He has a long history of liberal positions. I remember him calling for congress to pass a stimulus in 2009. <<

I don't remember Ben Stein going off the reservation prior to 2008, but he definitely went to the dark side that year. The Al Franken endorsement (which he backed up with lots of $$$ for Franken-Stein) gets a lot of attention because its inexcusable. But he also publicly praised Obama, and helped the left spread their "Palin is incompetent" meme. Until he apologizes and make amends for it, he's dead to me.

Ironically, the creationist wing of the GOP loves him because he also released his "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" documentary around the same time. Very strange priorities for a social conservative -- Teach evolution in public schools? Nope. Elect pro-abortion Marxists in Washington? Hell yes!

>> In my political daydream the senator is Ted Cruz. He delivers an hour long anti-17th speech laced with quips from The Federalist, the afternoon The Hildebeast announces her candidacy. <<

Good thing this daydream isn't reality, or the Texas state legislature would then promptly replace Cruz with GOP establishment suckup David Dewhurst after a round of applause for Cruz giving them the power to do so.

>> he encourages state legislatures to grasp the power they once had. <<

My crooked state legislature has already done so without his encouragement, and what's more, they grasp all kinds of power they DON'T have, and the federal government does nothing when they blatantly defy federal laws and pass their own unconstitutional state laws. The anti-17thers encourage us to "MOVE!" if we don't like our state government, so I don't know why they don't MOVE! to my state if they want powerful state legislatures that "stand up to the feds". My state legislature sticks their nose in every facet of our lives and doesn't give a crap what federal law says. Illinois has more units of state government than any other state. They should love it here if they're big fans of enpowering government at the state level.

Ahhh, ID :Intelligent Design, here's their *argument*

Look how complicated that cat's tongue is.
It couldn't have got here by pure random chance.
Too low probability for that to happen.
It must have been put here by an intelligent force.
We officially have no opinion of what that force was, so we cant compute any probability at all for OUR THEORY to have happened to compare against.
But that doesn't matter
So our ‘nonexistent’ probability beats evolutionists low probability, I mean the one we made up ourselves and assigned to them.
Its so low it proves that evolution is impossible, but not ours because we cant compute a probability of ours at all. So our non-number shows its plausable. So lets teach this in science class.
Its clearly based on facts and science.

Oh yes, Creation is science too but its not ID. This is ID. ”

RE Creationism, Evolutionism...

The ONLY subject these people should be speaking about right now, leading up to this election is Obamacare, and how it destroyed peoples’ existing health insurance plans.

And how not ONE Republican signed on to it in the Senate or the House...

And how it’s made people lose their jobs, their hours, their money.

“But... Congressman Blowhard.. What about Abortion and a Woman’s Right To Choose???”

Answer: How does that issue repair the Health Insurance system that Obamacare destroyed?

“But... Congresswoman Fannypinch.. What about Gay Marriage?????”

Answer: How does that issue get people working again, after Obamacare and the Democrats wrecked the healthcare system?

I place the conservatives who want to promote the causes of young-earth creationism or abolishing the 17th amendment (which another freeper is fantaszing about on this very thread) in the same category with leftists who want to promote the cause of “Free Mumia!” or argue that the 2nd amendment should be repealed. First off, they’re wasting their time and will get nowhere. Second, the issues they want to talk about are politically toxic and will turn off voters in droves.

It’s weird that Ben Stein is on the bandwagon though. Nearly all the people promoting creationism are devout Muslims or fundamentalist protestants. Stein is the first Jew I’ve seen that goes around preaching the virtues of intelligent design.

I used to really like the guy about a decade ago, during the “Win Ben Stein’s Money” era when he vocally opposed the CA GOP recruiting AHNULD to “save” their state. But Stein went off the deep end in 2008 and hasn’t come back since then. Franken’s “election” is one of the reasons we have Obamacare destroying America.
