Hank Aaron Compares Republicans That Oppose Obama To KKK
Atlanta CBS ^ | 4/9/14

...Hank Aaron compared Republicans that oppose President Barack Obama to the Ku Klux Klan....

“Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he’s treated,” Aaron told USA Today Sports.

Aaron continued: “The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.”

In regard to the stats. . .

they just said on 1st and ten that a baseball historian did a study of baseball field sizes back then versus now and said that if the stadiums back then were as small as they are now ruth could have hit around 1150 home runs. he had fly outs at 440+ feet . . . . . . . .
Reading the newspaper today, it lists the stats of Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds and what it took for each of them to reach 714 home runs.

For Aaron it took 11,291 at-bats, for Bonds it took 9,234 at-bats and for Ruth it took 8,388 at-bats.

Ruth .vs Aaron - it took Hammerin' Hank 2,903 more at-bats to reach 714 than it did for Ruth.

Ruth .vs Bonds - it took Barry another 846 at-bats to reach 714 than it did for Ruth to reach the same mark.

If you average in at-bats per season, it took Aaron another 6 seasons to reach 714 as opposed to what the Babe did doing the same thing.
. . . . . . . .

“People who oppose Obama/black people/anything I believe are racist.”

Eric Blair/George Orwell talked about this phenomenon in `Politics and the English Language.’
Back in the `30s, people would use the word `fascist’ as an adjective to describe anything they found objectionable:
“That fascist waiter is ignoring us ... my fascist neighbor is playing his music too loud again.” etc.
`Fascist’ had a real meaning (e.g. the precursor to socialism) but was corrupted to mean, simply, “This is something I don’t like.”
People like Hank (and Al, Jesse, Nancy, Bawney and all the other usual suspects—almost always Democrats) who use a strongly pejorative word like racism are, at best, intellectually lazy; at worst, dishonest, so that their `opinion’ can be quickly considered, then discarded.
Surprisingly you even see it in practice occasionally here on Free Republic.

Maybe to alleviate the pain I will chalk it up to him being old and crotchety....

You are very kind. There are some who would say he has been that way most of his life. But then, he knows first-hand what it is like to be the target of racism and was for most of his life.

Many baseball dignitaries at the Atlanta Braves opener last night described him as a classy guy. I'll bet he is pleased with just being an outstanding athlete and inspiration to many young people.

“...anybody who makes their living hitting little white balls around is suspect in my book. ;-]”

Yeah, and I don’t get that excited about baseball, either. ;^)

Oh well, Harry Belafonte is getting ancient & he needed to break in a replacement, I guess.

What a disappointment. I thought he had some sense but I guess I was wrong. He’s just another black racist.

Play the Race card, Hank. It couldn’t possibly be the hundreds of instances of crimes, corruption, and cronyism that we have seen under Obastard.

Unlike many, I’ve never had a sports hero, and given how some of the talented ones turned out to be thugs, rapists, murderers, anti-semites, truthers, Holocaust deniers, etc, I’m glad I never did.

Hank Aaron is a Racist ping. Thanks SoFloFreeper.

If he’s truly demented, then he was likely fed this stuff to say. In any event, he has reached the harry belafonte stage of life, and needs to be seriously dissed and ignored.

Mr Aaron seem to confuse “KKK” with “Uppity”
Let me explain the differences.

A KKK type person expect others to be subservient on all matters because of there different race or class.

An Uppity person is someone that will not be subservient to a KKK type person.

Mr Aaron states we must be subservient to Mr Obama because of his race..

And we are not correctly subservient. .ie we are being Uppity

I’m sick and tired of having the jerk in the White House referred to as a black president. Based on the same calculus as the left uses to determine his race, which was first established at Nuremberg in the 1930’s, he’s half-white. That makes him a white president. Even Jesse Jackson could see that in 2008.

You’d think a black man born in Mobile, AL in 1934 and who went to high school at Little Rock Central in the early 1950’s would be better educated on the history of southern racism and who the KKK was.

He’s either too stupid or senile or both.

The entire Democratic party has been saying this since Obama was elected, so it isn't exactly news.

About half of America (the liberal half) is bat guano crazy. Letting them get control of the levers of power will come to no good...somehow, they must be stopped.

What is amazing is that the crazy half includes some of the most well-educated and influential among us.

I’ve also reached that stage of life——we’re not all like them.

Though I wasn’t a Braves or Brewers fan, I cheered when Aaron hit the record-breaking home run. All these years, I thought he was way above making remarks like this... he’s either showing some signs of dementia or has been co-opted by OFA.

Very sad that even this once-admired man has stooped so low.

Sad, all to sad. It isn’t the Republican Party that invites misogynistic rappers to the white house. That was Obama. Blacks aren’t putty in the hands of fate. Their revolting admiration for filthy lyrics demeaning to their women is inexcusable. Jay-Z (”but my Bitch ain’t one”)doesn’t reflect reality, he contibutes to the disintegration of what was once a brilliant and lasting contribution to the American experience. “Wha’s the bitches and hoes?” Hank Aaron should know better.
