I bet if the truth about the Harry Reid connection did not come out as it did... that the government would have not quit as they did.

"And let me add a bit of clarity: they had no choice!"

And that right there is the news of the decade.

Their only alternative was to stay and die, without support from the County or the State.

The majority of Americans saw through the efforts to spin the story in Nevada.

Two of them were right here on FR, spinning for days..

Whether Bundy’s cattle were on public land is a separate issue but it provided the pretense to illegally take property and business.

The issue is that a man was almost thrown off his property at gun point and dispossessed of his business at gun point so that another business may benefit.

Without exercising our inherent rights protected by the 2nd Amendment this legally conducted criminality would have succeeded.

If you look past the surface, through the sheen of legality, there is a web of corruption with politicians, judges, administrators, all scratching each others backs.

Everything was “nice and legal”, but it was criminal.

NEVER DISARM.

I spent a couple of hours this evening watching the live recordings that Pete Santilli made out at the Bundy Ranch. When I saw those Rangers taze Ammon Bundy not once, but THREE times, and each time he pulled those things out and kept standing, I couldn’t help thinking that there was a higher power’s hand at work. He reacted as if it was a mere bee sting.

Wait for the new EPA rules that a new source wetland is all theirs to control. Our homestead will lose about half to the feds. Except, those tough guy Feds will have short lifespans due to the deer flies.

I guess I’m the only one who thinks the feds won. The state governor chickened out. The sheriff chickened out. They abused protesters. They used attack dogs. They confiscated cattle. They left at a time and place of their choosing.

And they lost?

Apparently the Left was not yet ready to kick off the war.

They will eventually, but for now the cost was too high.

We owe the Bundy family a great deal of thanks for standing tall.

The ol' guy has lots of guts, totally backed by his family and friends. He made it real clear days ago, he was ready to go down shooting if necessary.

>> Evidently a plan had been hatched to use the Bundy property for a solar farm

Not exactly.

They want him off the Bunkerville range so that the area can become a preserve to compensate for destruction caused by projects at the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone.

"The Gold Butte ACEC [Area of Critical Environmental Concern] is preliminarily recommended as the best recipient location for regional mitigation from the Dry Lake SEZ [Solar Energy Zone]." (Regional Mitigation Strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone, Proposed Mitigation Actions and Locations, page 29)

I've combined maps showing the Gold Butte ACEC[1], Bunkerville[2], and a relief map. The maps overlay each other using I-15 and Lake Mead for alignment and scaling. Although not perfect it is close.

Most telling I think was the land broker from LV who said he had been sent with purchase offers for many years and was turned down.

...the Clark County Commissioner who told those coming to support the Bundys to have "funeral plans in place."

It's time for a reckoning for that pr**k who loves to make death threats from his roost at the County Commission. "Inbred" is what he calls us.

Alex Jones broke the story about Dingy Harry on infowars. Then got Drudge to post it. Let’s give credit where credit is due. Alex Jones needs a big attaboy on this one!

Some additional information.

My brother grazes cattle in Nevada. He has, of necessity, become very knowledgeable on Nevada grazing law.

Here is what he tells me about this case that I haven’t heard or read anywhere else:
In Nevada, ranchers could vote to establish or not establish grazing districts. Once these districts were established, the BLM would “manage” the grazing land. By statute, the fees paid are not to lease the ground, but for BLM to manage the range.

According to the Taylor Grazing Act, the BLM is there to manage the range for grazing - NOT for tortoises or solar panels. BLM has been so far off the reservation for so many years that it is unlikely they will ever return to performing their legal activities.

The area where Bundy grazes voted against a grazing district. This means the land remained open range, and by Nevada law, the Bundy family had established their grazing rights by historic precedence. This right is to the forage on the property - regardless of who owns the deed to the land. (analogous to mineral rights). Therefore, since the ranchers voted AGAINST having BLM manage the land, they had no right to demand management (grazing) fees.

Also - cattle have enhanced the environment for the tortoises. Cattle can travel farther and faster than a tortoise. By shitting, the cattle deposit food and water for the tortoise - making areas previously too far from water now hospitable to the tortoise.

Finally - Nevada range cattle are far different than most other cattle in the US - even other range cattle. Because of the harsh environment (over 300 acres required to support 1 cow for 1 year), native cattle do much better than non-native cattle. My brother tells me that non-native cattle will lose at least a year of production before they learn the range. So Bundy cannot just go buy more cows and be made whole - he needs HIS cows that were taken, or he needs to be compensated for the cows AND the lost production while replacement cows become acclimated.
