Look for a Climate Credit from the State of California on Your April Utility Bill
This month your electricity bill will include a credit identified as the "California Climate Credit." Twice a year, in April and October, your household and millions of others throughout the state will receive this credit on your electricity bills.
The Climate Credit is a payment to Californians from a program designed to fight climate change by limiting the amount of greenhouse gas pollution that our largest industries put into the atmosphere.
This program is one of many developed as a result of landmark legislation called the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, which puts California at the forefront of efforts to battle climate change. Other programs under this law increase clean, renewable forms of electricity, promote energy efficiency in homes and businesses, and require cleaner fuels, and more efficient cars and trucks.
Together, these programs will aid in reducing greenhouse gas emissions that trap heat in the atmosphere–helping to clean the air and protect our food, water, and public health, as well as the beauty of our state.
The Climate Credit is designed to help you join with California in its efforts to fight climate change and clean the air. You can use the savings on your electricity bills however you choose, but you can save even more money by investing the bill savings from your Climate Credit in energy-saving home upgrades, including more efficient lights and appliances. California's greenhouse gas reduction programs provide a range of powerful solutions to help slow climate change, one of the greatest challenges facing society. Why don’t we just send in our paychecks in Toto to the gov’t and the bureaucrats can spend it for us more intelligently!

My electric company keeps sending me stuff trying to get me to sign up for their smart meter things. I can save UP TO $130 per year if I let them turn off my air conditioning, pool pumps, etc. "a few times" when they feel like it. They can go pound sand.

Does my heart good to know that when I hit “Post,” only clean energy is being used. (RME)
I just logged in and checked. My “climate change” credit is $29.80.
But an unexplained charge of $96.58 is added to my bill for something called “conservation incentive.” As nears as I can determine, per google searches, I’m being charged this “incentive” because I’m a larger than average residential power consumer (my home is my office and I have lots of equipment running 24 hrs per day) and I don’t allow them to remotely control my thermostat and I always hang up the moment I determine any caller is trying to sell me on the PG&E cost saving (at the expense of the taxpayer) solar scam. This and several other scurrilous charges and Marxist/fascist government scams add about 40% to my bill.
When does the Climate Credit turn into a Climate Bill because you use to many resources?
I got one of these also. It was $25.00 and they had a list of things you could do with the savings to make your home more energy efficient. One idea was to buy new appliances or get new windows.
Where the heck can you get new appliances and new windows for $25.00?
Such a joke all they did was take the money from Companies to give it someone else.
Mine was $40.00.
So the “credit” amounts to a $70.00 increase.
How cool is that? Works just like government budgeting.
If I knew how to do that kind of math, I’d be a dang millionaire.
