I personally wouldn’t stop to help anybody, which is unfortunate. Most people have cellphones and have cellphone chargers in their cars, so they can get help if they need it.
If perchance the situation looks serious, I’d probably be inclined to call the local police to look into it. It’s just too chancy today to do that.

I feel bad for her but she is lucky it did not go worse. I hope she learns from this real life experience in criminal psychology. I think everybody, but especially women, should carry a weapon.

I have 1 things to say about this, and I’ll say the serious one first, a woman alone is a fool to stop and offer help to anyone, even in daylight, unless she’s the Marisa Tomei character from “My cousin vinnie” and even then maybe not.

i can’t do this but if a person really looks in trouble i’d call 911 and tell them the mile markers. i have obligations to my family, my mom and wife and her mom in particular. and my now-old pets who totally depend on me to doctor them,’some several times a day.
Either she hasn’t been paying attention or she is getting the bleeding heart Liberal version of criminal psychology where criminal behavior is caused by an unjust society, poverty and social injustice.
These guys are going to make it tougher for other black men when their cars breaks down. Soon, no one’s gonna want to stop and help black guys in trouble!

I’m not defending this young woman’s decision to stop. That being said, I understand her statement that she was brought up that way. Her Mom, Dad and brothers have always stopped. She’s 19 and perhaps... her parents have shielded her from the dangers of this world and expected their kids to help others. I was raised in a different type of area. You don’t stop unless: it is a Mom with kids or an older person. This is what saddens me: our society has become so violent that good people can no longer offer aid. I thank God that this gal wasn’t raped and had her throat slit. She learned a new life lesson.. and unfortunate one but this incident (believe it or not) may keep her safer in the future. IMHO.

I wouldn’t have expected it there. Napoleon, OH is small town. It’s between Fort Wayne and Toledo, about 30 miles from Toledo.

I always stop to help women if I can.
I carry multiple defense including 150 pounds and still growing black and mahogany can of flesh tearing whupass on back seat of my truck.....and he loves his daddy....just try something with me...be lucky if I can call him down
You have to think about it and the risk...if my youngest are with me etc...then no unless a dire circumstance
But I would never leave say an old white woman on the side of the road in a high crime area

I discovered I was going to be overdrawn at the bank the next day because I had forgotten to deposit a check. At 11pm I got in the P/U truck and at the last minute decided to take my 2 Rhodesian Ridgeback with me.
I was at a red light by the freeway when a black kid pushing his bike approached my truck. He said he was lost and could I tell him how to get to Sugarland.
He was about 20 miles from there and I told him to put his bike in the back of the P/U and get in there with it. My dogs would not have taken kindly to him getting into the cab with us.
I took him home and he thanked my profusely. I have thought about this often and if I had not taken the P/U and the dogs, this kid may not have ever made it home without being run over. He as a black kid, dressed in black clothes and riding a a black bike in the middle of the night on a busy freeway. BTW I am a white female.
