Rancher Cliven Bundy decided to lecture his supporters on slavery and the “negro” on Saturday. Media Matters posted the video:

Dude?

The Washington Post posted his comments:

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

One wonders why you keep trolling the Bundy threads with your pious swill.

Amen to that!

Yep. Hannity should know better. He has a staff and they could take Bundy’s comments and run them along Harry Reid saying “Obama only has a Negro dialect when he wants one” and Biden saying “he’s a clean, articulate black” etc.

How about that audio of Bill Clinton and Jesse Jackson saying Obama “would have been fetching our coffee in our day”?

Nice response. Totally devoid of any substance, but i’m sure you feel better. Maybe next time you should try responding with some facts. So, why is Mr. Bundy NOT a deadbeat? Why should he not pay grazing fees when many others do?

"Amen. As soon as any conservative gets into trouble, the other so-called Republicans or so-called Conservatives run for their lives. Cowards! Gutless cowards."

This. Twice. Bunch of cowards who turn tail at the mere hint that someone is any of the left's pet grievances.

So what are you going to use to clean the Lefty Racism malware out of your head, cloud?

Or are you just going to leave it there, with the rest of the Lefty malware?

The “perfect weapon” is one that was fashioned by the Alinskyites. First, create the politically correct vocabulary, in which the formerly respectable term of “Negro” is now racist, then when it is used by a political enemy, brand that enemy with the handiest tool you can grab. “Negro” is simply the Latin-based Spanish term for “black”, but even that has become a sort of “racist” word, by those who can find the prism to focus on every imagined slight that comes their way.

Cliven Bundy was not “compelled” to use the term “Negro”, it is a very descriptive word that has evolved into a very pejorative epithet in the current context. But if one has seldom heard “Negro” used in other contexts, except by hearsay through media whose aim is to inflame debate, such a speaker may discover that his use of language is to be constrained by hateful situations far away, and even made a criminal offense.

And the Orwellian “thoughtcrime” has come to fruition.

I said at the very beginning, that while my knee-jerk is to defend this guy, why on Earth he doesn’t think he has to pay his own way like everyone else is beyond me.

Me too. It's kind of like the Branch Dividians. Much as I hate what the Feds did, I wasn't about to embrace David Koresh and his crazy cult as some kind of heroes. And no, I'm not justifying the Feds murdering children, intentional or not. Much as I sympathize and hate the Fed bullies, the nutters get all the attention. Meanwhile lots of other people are screwed over by the governments at all levels, but don't get any attention.

Raisons are dried fruit from California.
**snicker**

=============================

I got one better: California Granola bar = the land of fruits and nuts, with FLAKES in between.

I know you meant RAISINS but you wrote "Raisons," which is French for "reasons." Learn to spell, Trottel.
**snicker** in French = petit hennissement

So, why is Mr. Bundy NOT a deadbeat? Why should he not pay grazing fees when many others do?

Is it MY fault you apparently don't keep up?

In order to pay the grazing fees to the BLM, Bundy must sign the BLM grazing contract - the one that they changed to deliberately drive him out of business.

Are you in the habit of signing contracts with people who are trying to screw you over, bigdaddy?

The BLM won't accept payments until he signs the contract.

How exactly did the issue come up?

It was a mistake to say “ the Negro,” and to talk about picking cotton and to wonder aloud about blacks being better off as slaves.

On the other hand, when I drive past Altgeld Gardens on the southside of Chicago —Obama’s old stomping grounds from his community organizing days — I see the same thing Bundy saw in North Las Vegas.

The man said something stupid ignorant and probably repugnant.

But race is such a tripwire in this society everyone has to run around like their hair is on fire.

To my knowledge this has nothing to do with the land dispute.

When are we ever going to be sophisticated enough to realize people have all kinds of sides to them and they are not pure heroes or pure villains. Answer - never.

You mean no speech TODAY! Why do you conform to the left’s version of the language?

Bundy is old enough to remember when blacks were called colored and Negro not by racist but by government officials, society in general, and even among themselves (United Negro College Fund, National Assoc for the Advancement of Colored People).

Colored was replaced by Negro and then as I grew up it became Blacks and sometime in the 80’s turned into African American (which is really stupid because not all of them came from Africa).

I agree with you re Sean Hannity, I just cannot stand him, he is nothing but a Rush Wannabe, right at this moment he is on The Five, I’m so glad his program is shown at 10:00 pm EST, whilst I’ve been in bed since 9:30 PM.
