This afternoon Sean Hannity responded to Bundy’s comments on his radio show:

Rancher Cliven Bundy decided to lecture his supporters on slavery and the “negro” on Saturday. Media Matters posted the video:

Dude?

The Washington Post posted his comments:

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Hannity's is a wimp, afraid of his own shadow.

Get out of the way, Sean.

I don’t understand why Bundy felt compelled to make these comments. He had a lot of public support on his side. Didn’t it occur to him that he was handing his enemies the perfect weapon that could be used to destroy whatever credibility he had?

I said at the very beginning, that while my knee-jerk is to defend this guy, why on Earth he doesn’t think he has to pay his own way like everyone else is beyond me. That is straight LibTard.

And putting aside the Fed’s overreach for a moment, this was not the battle to pick. This was not the guy to defend. So now what do we have? We are saddled with a deadbeat who they are going to scream “look at the Tea Party bigot” all the way through the Election.

If these were his lands and he paid like everyone else, I’d be right by this guy’s side. But hes a deadbeat and may, indeed, be a bigot.

Bundy is not very sophisticated. Glen Beck was speaking about how he was distancing himself from he on his show this morning.

“SEAN HANNITY Responds to Cliven Bundy’s “Beyond Repugnant, Beyond Despicable” Racist Comments (Video)”

Notice how vociferous a conservative must denounce anyone who is perceived to be conservative and racist. In America today, there is nothing more damning than to be called a racist. So, Hannity couldn’t simply say it was a stupid remark. He had to say it was disgusting beyond words. This is to put as much distance between himself and Bundy as possible.

Not that I support it, but it is not illegal to be racist. Yet.

Actually, he probably didn’t. He is an old guy. I doubt this guy watches a lot of political TV or TV in general. He said what he said and although it was far from PC, he did have a little bit of a point.

That said, what he said will not help him when he needs it. His coverage is probably pretty well dead.

I wonder what Bundy's family, relatives, friends, acquaintance and folks he does business with think of him and this whole escapade.

The feds won't lose this; they never do. Bundy will have to pay and keep paying until he stops grazing his cattle on federal property. What's so hard to understand about that?
Not his land anymore.

One wonders why he didn't lawyer up to keep his land BEFORE all this. He's not stupid. He KNOWS that attorneys are the modern version of a hired gun.

I feel sorry for his family.

Unfortunately, the liberals will get lots of mileage out of this.

The liberals had already decided Bundy was the bad guy in the standoff with the government. This will be used for character assassination by the left and the media.

We live in a politically correct world now. You cannot say anything which can be construed as critical of officially recognized grievance groups, such as minorities or homosexuals. Otherwise, you will be targeted for destruction.

I’m not defending the comments, just stating that he will be vilified as racist and bigoted, and this will overshadow any details of the dispute with the government. Instead he will be dismissed as a bigot, and the media and leftists will say that anyone who agrees with him on anything is a bigot by association.

Bundy isn't stupid. He is arrogant if he thinks that he will outlast or outsmart the government.

He should have lawyered up LONG before this.

Well, maybe he is more than just arrogant, stupid.

The power of the media in creating a "death sentence" for racial remarks is irresistible. Bundy is dead.

“The power of the media in creating a “death sentence” for racial remarks is irresistible. Bundy is dead.”

Couldn’t agree more on both counts.

Amen. As soon as any conservative gets into trouble, the other so-called Republicans or so-called Conservatives run for their lives. Cowards! Gutless cowards.

Bigotry isn't his flaw. Arrogance is. Pride is the FIRST and FOREMOST of all the seven deadly sins.

I WON'T say that he is a moron too. I WON'T; I won't.

“In America today, there is nothing more damning than to be called a racist.”

Maybe “child molester”, but in either case the result is about the same: no actions have to even be proved nor do any other actions or accomplishments matter whatsoever unless the charge is conclusively and completely disproved. Even the appearance of having any inclination that way renders one pretty much a pariah. Just the way it is.

To be fair, no speech that starts off with “Let me tell you about the Negro” can possibly end well.
He’s done.

Yes, if this had been property he owned and the Feds or even local government wanted to use eminent domain to take his property...I would be a HUGE supporter. But that was not what happened here.

Bundy may well not be a racist as he appears to think illegal Mexicans should be able to ‘join us’ and that Mexicans have better families than white folks.

It could well be that Bundy is just not a great wordsmith. BUT holy cow, he sure enough knows how to lose support quickly. And he just keeps digging the hole. Mercy.
