An audit released this month on Oregon’s dismal track record shifting people off of welfare and into jobs offers a detailed look at the effects of the recession.
The audit from the Oregon Secretary of State's Office includes maps and charts that illustrate the downturn’s toll, including a sharp rise in welfare recipients and a reduction in state services.
Data show bad news on every front for many Oregonians: Unemployment spiked from 2007-09 and remains above the national rate. And most of the jobs lost in 2008-12 were middle-wage – the kind that keep families off of welfare.
The jobs coming back, however, tend to be high- or low-wage, a phenomenon state economists call “job polarization.”

Government is the problem. Too many laws, too many regulations both national and local repress industry and individual initiative. Get rid of the regs and get rid of the laws that only serve government and not the people. When you do that you economy will comeback, until then you will starve.
Basically she says if everyone in Oregon had a job, her department wouldn't be having this problem of no jobs, and besides, the problem is all the Legislature's fault, and she looks forward to partnering with the Legislature to improve the problem, which is to get more jobs for Oregon, which is not the job of her department.
Or maybe Erinn and even the Oregon State Legislature could demonstrate Oregonian leadership and volunteer for the DWDA program, opening up jobs to out-of-work, and still living, Oregonians.
Oregone is a state ruled by left wing socialist progressives and enviro terrorists, who hate America. The enviro terrorists hate ranchers, farmers, lumberjacks and anyone who used to make a living harvesting their work on the land.
The good people in conservative counties are taxed and taxed to support the leeches in the university counties, Salem and Portland. Most sheriffs in the conservative counties are underfunded and can’t respond to most 911 calls. Many have advised their citizens to arm themselves to protect their families, their lives and property.
Yeah...I know....I live there.
