Some Conservative Media Burned in Cliven Bundy Affair
Accuracy In Media ^ | April 27, 2014 | Cliff Kincaid

Posted on 04/28/2014 7:27:56 AM PDT by Academiadotorg

Some “prominent Republicans and conservative news media outlets” are being accused by The Washington Post of rallying around the cause of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who made derogatory comments about “Negroes” and has been discredited as a racist. But Glenn Beck, the prominent conservative TV and radio host, did not fall into the trap. He concluded early on that the Nevada rancher was “unhinged” and not worthy of support, after noting that some followers of radio host Alex Jones were “deeply embedded” with the Bundy family and preparing for a confrontation with federal agents.

“These guys are dangerous. They are looking for revolution. They are looking for a fight,” Beck said of the Alex Jones disciples. Recognizing a dangerous situation in the making, when armed federal agents tried to seize Bundy’s cattle, Beck urged a peaceful response to the conflict. Eventually, the federal agents were withdrawn, and bloodshed was avoided.

Jones is being inaccurately described in some reports about the controversy as a “conservative” when, in fact, he insists he is a “libertarian.” What is an established fact is that Jones has a habit of exploiting legitimate conservative issues for his own benefit. He is a 9/11 “truther” who thinks the September 11, 2001 attacks were carried out by a secret cabal and that Muslims were unfairly blamed. In a decision he has probably come to regret, Sean Hannity of Fox News had followed Jones’ lead on the Bundy case.

Alex Jones isn't conservative.

A lot of Bundy's cockamamie theories are based on Jones' nonsense, however.

Don’t let your ENEMY define you and you won’t get “burned”.

Defending Bundy has NOTHING to do with his personal views!

Its about FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OVER REACH!

“These guys are dangerous. They are looking for revolution. They are looking for a fight,”

THESE guys are dangerous??? THESE guys are looking for a revolution, or spoiling for a fight???? What about the jackboots who routinely rob us of our rights, our liberties, and our freedoms, then thumb their noses at us because we're a bunch of malcontents and angry old white men? Does it occur to the apologists that THEY are the ones who are "dangerous?" And not just to Bundy, but to our Republic???

Some posters bombard FR with subtle negative posts that can affect border-line FR conservatives' outlook and hope.

Sometimes it seems that you and I and a handful of FReepers are the only ones who see that and buck up against it. The rest of the time, I know there are other folks lurking here who post infrequently or not at all who see the folly that the GOPe operatives try to foist upon true Constitutional conservatives on FR.

Negro is correct, as is Caucasian. I would offer Bundy is only guilty of generalization, not racism.

Glenn Beck likes to talk up and laud the Founding Fathers, but ignores that they all voluntarily opted into a very bloody, shooting war with their own government.

And Clive Bundy is no racist. So many other Conservatives have compared the modern day DNC as a "plantation," so why can't Bundy?

” But Glenn Beck, the prominent conservative TV and radio host”

Since when? It should read Glenn Beck prominent Mormon kook with a Messianic complex.

I wouldn’t listen to anything Glenn Beck ever said. He has a hidden agenda. It would not suprise me if old Glenn was shilling for the govt. Why wasn’t Glenn out there in Nevada defending Bundy? Sheriff Mack rightly said Glenn Beck should be ashamed of himself.

Since his site is called “Accuracy in Media,” C. Edmund Wright might have taken the trouble to read or watch what Bundy actually said.

He said that the Democrat Plantation of LBJ is in many ways worse than slavery. And he is right. Slavery oppresses its victims; LBJ’s plan was to break up their families, wreck their culture, encourage the worst in them, and then pay them to vote for him and his fellow Democrats.

And, by the way, the Democrats were the party of slavery. In in a practical sense, they still are. The Republicans freed the slaves. The Republicans abolished Jim Crow.

And as for the word “Negro,” it was perfectly acceptable until the Orwellian left suddenly declared that it was evil. It was the word preferred by Martin Luther King. United Negro College Fund, and all that. Bundy happens to have some negro friends, whereas the BLM has a habit of going around shooting them.

Bundy is “guilty” of “needing to be disgraced because he’s a rallying point against abusive government”.

To the Left, any white who even talks about race is racist.

Bundy’s remarks were not racist. They were not against negroes. They were lamenting what has been done that only hurts negroes.

The ones who rally around him are the ones that are right. In a real sense he is the new George Zimmerman. The facts are being twisted by the press and progressives to warp what is happening there. At least, they are trying to. Beck is the one that is unhinged.
