The story ain't over - but no lawsuits. Rather a forced sale of the team. Watch who it is sold to.
The NBA is a voluntary association of independent business owners. It has the right to establish speech and behavior codes since the actions of one can affect all. Yet this is still debatable if the imposition of politically correct standards in a culture is truly beneficial. Is it better to teach people to pose publicly and affect a posture, when their private thoughts and actions are radically different? Is not a culture much more dynamic and innovative when people freely and honestly express their opinions no matter how odious? Should students and teachers be punished for provocative statements and theories? If people are trained to remain silent, accept the thesis that the debate is over, it is now settled science or whatever, there can be no deniers, then not only will the culture come to a standstill, but it will begin to crumble.
I've heard that is it 75-80 percent black.
He’s the Al Davis of the NBA.
What if the Clippers go on and win the NBA title? Wouldn’t that trophy presentation be fun to watch?
Funny thing is that when he bought the team it was worth around $12 million and its estimated to be worth between 500 and 800 million today.
I would have liked to see that. Too bad.
76% last stats I could find.
47% of head coaches
Really. The guy just turned 80, and is already worth zillions, so what's he got to lose?
BFD.
I smell a huge lawsuit against the NBA. There is still something of law about taping a conversation and free speech.
But so what. He just lets the wife run the show.
I saw some pundit on the news today declaring the NBA to be the most diverse and progressive of all the major league sports.
Somebody has never seen a baseball game.
What about a lawsuit against the girl who recorded these conversations?
I listened to extended versions of the conversations, and it sure sounds as if she was baiting him to discuss certain topics. She was steering and scripting conversations in a certain way.
What does she get out of all of this? Will we see her on The View or Today Show or others, talking about how she is a victim in all of this?
Why did she do this? 15 minutes of fame? Blackmail because he was going to stop paying her bills?
There is a huge untold story here.
RE: What is the racial makeup of the NBA again?
From Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_ethnicity_in_the_NBA
According to racial equality activist Richard Lapchick, the NBA in 2011 was composed of 78 percent black players, 17 percent whites, four percent Latinos, and one percent Asian.
The league had by far the highest percentage of black players of any major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada.
Thankfully, I quit watching the NBA long ago.
I just wonder what the rest of the rich white billionare NBA owners think.
I did read Peter Holt’s (Spurs) comments. They were sane and rational. I suspect if Sterling forced the issue, Silver would have to back down.
“Somebody has never seen a baseball game.”

Si,and it’s a better sport too.
.
The guy’s got a right to be a racist, if that’s how his worldview works.
Look for this to land up in court.
Same here.
I never watch this trashy so called basketball league. The players are lo-information racists so it seems. You should hear their trash talk done in private. Maybe some ho or girlfriend can tape THAT and release it publicly.
Let the NBA eat itself alive with racism accusations flying right and left
