BOEHNER FINALLY CAVES, WILL APPOINT SPECIAL COMMITTEE
Breitbart ^ | May 2, 2014 | by MATTHEW BOYLE

Posted on 05/02/2014 10:24:38 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

After more than a year of resisting the calls of a vast majority of his conference, Speaker John Boehner is relenting and forming a special committee to investigate the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya and resulting scandal.

“The administration's withholding of documents – emails showing greater White House involvement in misleading the American people – is a flagrant violation of trust and undermines the basic principles of oversight upon which our system of government is built. And it forces us to ask the question, what else about Benghazi is the Obama administration still hiding from the American people?” Boehner said in a statement announcing the decision.

“The new emails released this week were the straw that broke the camel’s back,” a senior GOP leadership aide said. “The Speaker was furious to learn that the administration withheld relevant documents from a congressional subpoena. He’s sick and tired of this evasion and obstruction from the administration, and wants a solution to finally force accountability, get the truth, and provide justice.”

House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon had also waged a high-profile battle against an oversight committee hearing yesterday, undermining the notion that the five committees investigating the issue were working together, Republicans close to the matter said.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is under consideration to chair the special panel...

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

What a useless follower. Do us all a favor John and quit. Do us a bigger favor Ohio and retire him for us!

Yeah, this from the SAME Charles Kraut that just a few weeks ago was saying, “forget Benghazi...there is nothing to see here...move on”.

She keep track of Boehner too?

I'd best not find out. She better not be.

(Hmmmm...She did say something about his "gorgeous eyes" though. Hmmmmmmmm.)

BOEHNER FINALLY CAVES, WILL APPOINT SPECIAL COMMITTEE

Someone drug him out of the bar long enought to do some work, huh?

I would've rather had a Special Prosecutor, because committees are sometimes a way to bury something while claiming it is being investigated, but with Trey Gowdy leading it, I think 0bama and his regime are fixin' to catch hell! Go get 'em, Trey!

I’ve got a hundred bucks that say the report comes out between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Investigating committees are a great way to sweep things under the rug, you get a great furor when they’re announced, now lots of people are happy that “something is being done” and then you get to ignore until a conveniently timed later date.

"Where is the list of who is on this committee???"

They are not yet named.

Boner and Pelosi will pick all members.

If you are going to go after the first Black President, you’d better be sure that it’s about something really huge and you’d better be sure you have dotted every “I” and crossed every “t” or the Democrats will use the press to shove it up your donkey. Benghazi can destroy the Democrat Party forever. The Democrats know that. The Republicans know that. The press knows that. That’s some real uncharted ground. Better slow and right than fast and wrong.

Boner and Pelosi will pick all members.

Maybe FR should pick our own 'all star committee' and send the list to Boner's office. Haven't seen enough of Louie Goehmert or Steve King lately.

Well I don’t know who I would put in charge - and I hope to be proven wrong about Gowdy. None of this changes the fact that I have my qualms, and I know the basis for them. I never guaranteed failure….just sounded a little circumspect warning…..

Well he has a strike against him on the Amnesty thing.

Not really. Some on FR have been selling this untruth based upon their erroneous interpretations of his interactions with other Congressmen, things said on a radio show taken out of context, and several anti-Gowdy websites.

You may have missed yesterday this answer from Gowdy regarding his position on amnesty:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3150960/posts

He really is quite clear where his emphasis TRULY is, in spite of heavy continual bombardment from some detractors who say he is a liar.

I’d take Trey Gowdy as both Special Prosecutor AND Chair of the Select Committee. Go Get ‘Em Trey!!!

The wheels of justice are moving much too slowly. The Dem’s at the hearing this week were DISGUSTING. The MSM and their slobbering and elevating Cindy Sheehan during the Bush Administration don’t give a rat’s a** about Sean Smith’s Mom or the other families.

Not to mention that scumbag in MS that said such UGLY things about Justice Thomas.

I am thoroughly disgusted. When I thought I couldn’t get more disgusted with the LEFT.

Had Boehner appointed the committee earlier the neat emails he got may not have been forthcoming.
