“The Speaker was furious to learn that the administration withheld relevant documents from a congressional subpoena. He’s sick and tired of this evasion and obstruction from the administration, and wants a solution to finally force accountability, get the truth, and provide justice.”

Please.

The only reason Boner capitulated was due to a political calculation that the Titanic was sinking more quickly than he had previously anticipated. There were mountains of evidence prior to the emails, that have existed for the last two years without a single iota of Mr. Boner's newfound furious scrutiny.

Immediately afterward Boner called Obama and said “Waaaa! I can’t stop them. It’s soooooooo hard.”

What I find absurd is Boehner’s reason for waiting this long. He was looking for concrete evidence that tied the WH to the video talking point.

Isn’t that the whole purpose of the committee - to figure out what happened?

Caves....BS....They found the “indisputable” smoking gun. Hope it’s enough to impeach Obama.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President.”

Holy cow.

Quote of the year.

Allahpundit may well have it right.

Seems Boehner’s epic resistance to ever establishing a Select Committee, even immediately after the Big Lie of Benghazi was overwhelmed by the facts and witnesses on the ground, drew ire from Republicans at home and in the House.

Boehner then hawks immigration “reform” and further enrages the base of his party.

Now comes the chess. Boehner trades out one of two main issues aligned against him (probably to save his Speakership) to get the other. He gives us a Select Committee.

The return he expects may be more about increased cooperation on amnesty, from recalcitrant House members.

You are correct on Boehner’s seriousness. It’s Gowdy, or this SC is a spin machine arranged to go nowhere.

Who makes the selection of members of a Special Committee? Do they have to be voted on by the whole house after being selected? Is the Chairman of the committee appointed or do the Committee members select the Chairman?

Let us remember that the current scandal about the cover-up, is still not the bottom of the event. The second question is what in the heck were they up to in Libya anyway? Were they running guns to Al Qaeda affiliated groups to use to overthrow Egypt and/or Syria?

What exactly is our foreign policy except to express a hatred of Israel, and to pummel Putin’s chest with sissy fists, yelling, “You Brute! You Brute!”

Great link, thanks.

The title is a bit inaccurate. Trey Gowdy RIPS the media, to their faces (!) for buying the Bamster’s lies.

Trey Gowdy will surely create some major league fireworks. That would certainly be a bold move if Boehner appoints him.

It appears that the timing of the creation of this committee will insure that no conclusion is reached before the election.

The thing that is good, but too late, is of no use.

“Gowdy may not be the prince many think he is……just a warning….”

And outside of sheer defeatism, what evidence do you have to show that Trey Gowdy is not genuine?
