Alas mostly true. Exceptions are the miners sealed breathing mask developed by a black miner from VA-WVA named McCoy. Hence the phrase ‘the real McCoy’. Miners checked the name of the manufacturer before buying masks to make sure it was ‘the real McCoy’. Also Norbert Reillieux (Sp ?) from Louisiana developed the basic process of refining sugar from the semi finished product leading to the refined product used today.
