Oklahoma Agrees to Six-Month Delay in Next Execution

Oklahoma has agreed to a six-month delay in the execution of a man who was supposed to be put to death right after the botched lethal injection of Clayton Lockett last month.

Charles Warner's original execution was called off amid the chaos in the death chamber on April 29, and the governor gave him a two-week reprieve.

Warner's lawyers demanded more time and in court papers filed Thursday, the state attorney general said he would not object if the court issued a six-month stay of execution.

"It is obvious Warner will not be executed May 13," the court filing said, citing the investigation of Lockett's death ordered by Gov. Mary Fallin.

I think they should update the next prospective test subject the range and scope of the new and improved chemicals that will take their lives. Every day on the new and exciting developments that will humanely erase their lives.

This a crisis invented by death-penalty opponents.

It will get sorted out, even if it means firing up old sparky again.

I know. I know. That last response was just macabre and sick, really! But so is most of Game of Thrones. It is a compelling commentary on the depths to which we have delved, and I must confess that I’m not really a protagonist of such action but a victim. Hey! I’m actually a victim here! Where’s my money that’s gonna fix it?

I bet Stephanie’s parents would do anything to have just six more seconds, let alone months, months with her.

Oklahoma needs to follow the Texas model with frequent application of the death penalty. With more practice comes perfection. They were just getting a tad rusty with the procedure, that’s all. Nevertheless, in spite of the leftist lamestream media’s characterization of a “botched” execution, the end result was quite successful. The subhuman scum is now nourishing worms.

The Oklahoma legislature should immediately act to authorize the firing squad as a means of execution. And part of the law should be that if other means of execution are unavailable for any reason, including appeals, that without further court hearings the means can be shifted to firing squad.

They might even include in the law that changing the means of execution is not grandfathered, so if a murderer was sentenced to execution by lethal injection, they have no claim that they can *only* be executed by lethal injection.

States will not have the stomach for firing-up “old sparky”, firing squads or gas chambers IMO.

The Left is going to succeed in shutting off their supply of lethal injection drugs, and the death penalty will be dead in this country as a practical matter.

I don’t care about he death penalty. The catechism is okay with it under circumstances and tgat seems fine with me. I’m not big on revenge but I am not in any way disturbed tgat this guy suffered. Maybe he had a chance to have a conversion

Maybe they ought to just be penned in in a place where they have to fend for themselves no tax money just donations and a piece of land to farm so they can eat with some kind of water supply and not even a time and money wasting parole hearing

But I just gotta say, if people don’t have the stomach for a clean supervised death, maybe they need to be shown the murder reenacted

Duh

The chemicals had nothing to do with it. Lockett purposely dehydrated himself by refusing water and then cut himself in order to bleed. He was attempting to foil the execution and it almost worked when his vein collapsed. He couldn’t avoid Karma and he suffered a fatal heart attack.

A lawyer left his office late, having spent the entire week trying to keep his client, Jim Wright, from being hanged. He had failed and the man was set for execution that night. When the lawyer came in the door his wife started chewing him out for getting home late, dinner was cold, he never paid any attention to her etc. He shrugged off the all too familiar nagging and went upstairs for a hot bath. While he was there the phone rang. It was the governor’s office reporting that the execution had been stayed. The wife, realizing why her husband was late and wanting him to get the good news, went into the bathroom where her husband was bending over, drying off his legs. She said, “They’re not hanging Wright.” He turned and said, “Woman, can’t you stop for one minute?”
