‘Gun for Hire’ Colandro asks how N.J. will afford 900,000 new felons

Addressing the New Jersey Senate in Trenton Monday during a proposed magazine limitation bill hearing, “Gun for Hire” activist Anthony P. Colandro attempted to educate closed minds, earning, if not a change in heart from the rulers, at least an enthusiastic show of support from a number of citizen attendees.

“I’m a lifelong resident of New Jersey, and up until today, not a felon,” Colandro told the politicians. “I realize that the majority of you here represent constituents who choose free stuff over freedom.

“Have you thought about the lost taxes and revenue when you have to start incarcerating 10,000 or 100,000 or even 1,000,000 law-abiding, taxpaying citizens, who are fed up with being pushed around with unjust laws that will do nothing to address the real crime issues and criminals?” he asked. “So if just only 19 percent of us legal gun owners stand with me, it will cost the state $550,000,000 a year to house us... Remember, this does not take into account the lost revenue when we, the previously law-abiding citizens, are no longer working and paying our taxes.

“And as a bonus to most of you,” Colandro added, earning laughter and applause from attendees, “we will all be felons as well, and many of us will lose our jobs and become wards of the state, like the majority of your constituents are now.”

to me, what really sucks is how powerful these people are, whether they live in the us or not, they are able to reach even down to the state level and get these state and local governments to disarm their citizens.

2DV,

Be careful what you wish for!!! California was a wonderful place until we got “popular” with the East Coast Rats, Southern Blacks and of course, the Gays. After these groups arrived, they “arranged” for the Mexicans so they had someone to cut their grass.

Just another oppressive step in getting rid of guns for citizens altogether. They cannot rule you if you are armed, and they are doing something about that.

He needs to ask them how they will deal with 900,000 pissed off, armed citizens.

Christie won't sign the bill. It will probably resurface annually until the next governor's election in 2017, because it attracts Bloomberg money.

What will happen in 2018 depends on what happens in the governor's election.

That the state elected and reelected an obese Republican with charisma doesn't mean it will elect an obese Democrat with no charisma in 2017, but we'll see.

Well, recently SCOTUS refused to hear a case involving New Jersey's failure to allow a right to carry permit for its citizens. They did it because they chose not to be forced to void New Jersey's Law, as under the Second Amendment and prior decisions they would have to do. They get appointed for life and their is no appeal fro mtheir idiocy.

People like the trash who infest New Jersey's legislatures are there because their consituency is too ignorant, too greedy, and too selfish to vote them out of office. As Mr. Colusandro pointed out, because they steal from those who work to give to those who don't, they are assured of an ever increasing number of votes.

They are also there because the Democrats and Republicans have engaged in a criminal conspiracy to secure control of the legislative process in such a manner that any third party challenger has no chance.

Further, the ruling establishment of both parties have structured their primary process in such a fashion that only those candidates who have the imprimatur of the party bosses and party establishment, have nay chance of getting nominated.

Democracy? Hardly.

A Republic? Forget. With THAT kind of power, a Constitution is not worth the paper its printed on.

And we thought King George III was bad.

A little primer on NJ Political Process -

If the bill is signed by the Senate and sent up to Christie and he chooses to do NOTHING, then in 45 days it becomes law. We are truly a screwed up state.

Law-abiding firearms owners here are lobbying the Senate and the Governor extremely hard. The Senate is lost, but Christie still has no love for Sweeney (senate pres) who is driving this from his office. Sweeney thinks he's next in line for the diggs at Drumthwacket.

Wow that’s brutal. I bet the legislators didn’t like hearing that. He’ll probably get a colorectal audit very soon.

Let me be more specific.

Christie won't sign it. He'll veto it. He is done in 38 states if he allows it to become law. Although the NJ Assembly and Senate are gerrymandered for permanent Democrat majorities until the sun goes supernova, the Republican districts are also so gerrymandered that they can sustain whatever veto the Governor wants with little fear.

The fat Democrat looking at Drumthwacket for 2017 has no charisma (mistaking gerrymandering for personality), so if Bridgetgate doesn't go nuclear, a sane Republican with some social skills might still win. (Conversely, if the Democrats nominate someone presentable, it might be time to call the moving company.)
