I wonder if the AFF operatives understand that Karen Handel has the bad habit of bailing out on completing her term(s) in elective office?

...Resigned as GA SecState to run (unsuccessfully) for the next higher rung on the ladder (Gov)...

SOooo....
....hypothetically speaking....

Perhaps she wins the 2014 primary and defeats Michelle Nunn (DHIMMI-GA) for Chambliss' Senate seat...
Only to serve a few months until mid-2015 so she can run (unsuccessfully)for POTUS....

There IS a pattern here...
...I can't support her for Senate with a clear conscience.

JMHO...

There is something in my gut about Karen Handel that just won't go away but is hard to quantify. Part is Handel's lack of significant accomplishment in the private sector, part is her nannyish demeanor (a la AlGore), part is her demonstrated petty streak, and part is that she always seems to be running for something. Politicians seeking a senior office have traditionally been vetted in the tooth-cutting and record-building progression through district representation, but Handel's government experience is in the bureaucracy. Moreover, rather than seeking district representation, Karen Handel seems to prefer at-large and state-wide campaigns in which she can distinguish herself as "the girl" in the race as an identity driven advantage over more accomplished candidates.

In my view, a United States Senator should be a person of considerable accomplishment in the real world who steps DOWN to serve a senator's role as a senior statesman. That was certainly the Founders' intent and was the prevailing practice prior to the 17th Amendment. A senator should bring wisdom from outside experience that enables him or her to best represent the state in the senior legislative body. After reviewing her record I have to wonder what Karen Handel would bring to the Senate?

My conclusion is that Karen Handel is just looking for a better government job, and this one happens to come with a six year term and an easier path to a better government pension.

You nailed it here.... wholeheartedly concur...

FWIW only... (Just my $.02)

THIS-S-S-S is one of THE MAIN REASON I am supporting David Perdue.
...He has already "accomplished" .. and prospered by his own sweat & smarts through the years...

I have gone out of my way to get to know DP and staff...
... and "The Outsider" with common-sense business skills...
Has won my unqualified support....

Your reply is very interesting. Achievement in the business world is the most attractive thing to me about David Perdue, and I like the fact that he’s not a professional candidate and doesn’t need the job.
