Damn! Who da thunkit?
Back in the old days, the BBS days, there was a thing called mail. Mail was sent and came from people on the BBS.
Truth was, there weren’t many people on the average local BBS
The mod on the board I frequented always said.... to get
mail, send mail.
If you sent mail and still got no mail, that was a downer..... bad news for self esteem.
This too shall pass.
Long live BoardWatch.....: (
RIP
Worse than that, FB is actually destructive.
People with attitude problems, emotional issues, mental health problems, and other negative factors in their lives hook up with a bunch of other online “friends” all suffering from the same conditions and receive constant negative reinforcement.
This is a serious challenge to family members and professionals who are trying to help those individuals.
And Facebook takes ZERO responsibility for it.
FYI - I think your post may have been intended for a different thread.
HA HA! Quote of the day!!
Great. Symbipsychotic relationships.
I don’t mean to say the atheists are our enemy. I’m talking about getting protection by the grace of God against the real enemy. When we shove Him out or, just as bad, allow others to shove Him out, we lose protection
Then we get Sandy Hook and the like
How true that is! I occasionally visit facebook and when people ignore me I certainly don’t lose any sleep over it.
They should play Farmville. They’ll get more postings than they know what to do with.
I use FB to keep up with some people and topics I am interested in. In a way, it is like how I come to FR for news and opinion. I seldom post on Facebook, and it doesn’t define me.
Your hovercraft is full of eels, matey.
Oh for heaven's sake. Who knew? How disgusting.
OTOH, FB may be keeping them off the streets, making it safer for the rest of us. s/
On the other other hand, some of those "friends" might be pharmaceutical company reps making unsubstantiated/exaggerated claims for the meds they represent. I think companies actually hire "social media experts" to do just this sort of thing. I know for sure that alcohol mfgrs do
in order to get to teens and even younger kids that they cannot overtly advertise to.
oh for crying out loud.
Go to work. Go outside.
Do something! Put that blame phone/computer down and do something.
Panzy panties crying about this and that with their face crammed into that phone every waking minute of the day.
A man ought to be working, sleeping or eating.
...and when you step outside, don’t be alarmed by that warm feeling on the back of your neck. That’s just our friend, the Sun.
People ignoring me is the goal. The more I am ignored the less people I have to trouble myself to talk to or send Christmas cards or attend Bday parties for or have them turn up on my phone at an inopportune time or visit or think about.
There are facets of “Sheldon” on ‘The Big Bang Theory’ that I totally get...
Great post, LMAO
Going to the dairy queen is a major accomplishment.
Just ask any 15 year old girl.
Go to the dairy queen = 48 new pictures. 17 of which are self pictures with tongue sticking out. 18 twits and bookface updates.
...all for a dang ice cream cone.
I’m with you. I’ve gotten to where I don’t like interacting with the masses anymore.
My kids are the same way and rate their outings with a misery index, low medium and high depending on how many SSRI doped people or offended liberals they have to deal with.
Seems very teenage-ish to me.
I can’t stand facebook either, and this is the only “social media” I belong to heh.
Sounds like you did good work in bailing on a drama queen.
I will say though, I broke up with several hundred rounds of .308 on Sunday and I DO miss them.
