Actually, the NBA bylaws requires players “be of good moral character.”

The tapes themselves are proof of a conspiracy by persons not yet known to seize control of the team.

The dweeb Silver ‘s “Investigation” which lasted all of three days and basically consisted of asking Sterling if it was his voice, is pathetic.

Silver never asked who made the tapes or where they came from, inexcusable from a legal perspective, and exposes the NBA as co-conspirators when they force sale of the team based on illegally obtained evidence.

If Sterling takes this to court, the NBA is screwed big time, and I’m not talking just about the civil case, but a criminal case against the slut and anybody who helped her.

Sterling is not only going to get his billion, he is probably going to destroy Silver too.

“Not defending what Sterling said, but I do think the commissioner instituted a huge rush to judgement.”

No, Adam Silver has stepped on his schmeckel big time!

Good tactics. That due process claim over the league’s practice of arbitrary fines against owners is something many of them’ll support. Also, when you’re going to mount an “up yours” defense, you don’t give ‘em any quarter.

This’ll be entertaining.

There are likely a lot of people who do not want to be put under oath.

Pray America wakes up

You would think that info would be in Silvers “Investigation”.

What a loathsome bastard Sterling is. But, even loathsome bastards, like Sterling, are entitled to due process and a day in court. It would serve the POS right if the players “refused” to play for him, the fans turned their backs on his franchise, his sponsors left and he lost more cash than he could tolerate. Let the marketplace decide if the scumbag is worth supporting with the peoples’ money.

The problem is that now that the woman brought it forward, for whatever reasons, it will kills the commercial viability of that team. So what choice is there but to force him out of the league? If they don’t, the Clippers will just die a death of nobody showing up!

nothing more fun than a Left-on-Left Civil War

I agree, but for what it's worth, the LA Times claimed to have evidence that Sterling is a registered Republican. I don't trust the LAT, and I hope the story is wrong, but they do make it sound plausible.

NBA players are to be of good moral character.

Magic Johnson self professed master adulterer slept with thousands of women and got aids. I am not sure if he got aids from a female, male or drugs. I hope Sterling investigates phony Mr. Johnson, did they call him Johnson for another reason?

I’d like to hear what Black Gangsta basketball players say about white people.

Michael Jordan announced a week or two ago that, as a young man, he didn’t like White people (no follow-up on what he thinks now).

I haven’t seen him denounced by the NBA or abandoned by his sponsors—In other words, he committed essentially the same sin as Paula Deen, but has not received the Paula Deen treatment.

If the players had decided to go on a wildcat strike, who would have been hurt the most? Owners or players?

I hope that the off season gives everyone a chance to take a deep breath and and cool down.

It will be very messy for the NBA, if Steling goes ahead with threats of lawsuits, and if Sterling’s estranged wife sues to keep her share of the team.

This isn’t over by a long shot. I hope the players realize how much they have to lose if they walk out next season over this. LeBron James suggested that could happen, if Sterling is still the owner when next season starts. Mrs. Sterling may well still be a co-owner, and some have said nobody in the Sterling family should own that team.

This whole situation is crazy. Multi-million dollar players really want to jeopardize their earnings because somebody said something stupid??? And they will jeopardize it if they are not happy with the eventual settlement????
