Miami Will Likely Be Underwater Before Congress Acts on Climate Change
National Journal ^ | May 15, 2014 | Ronald Brownstein

Miami will likely be underwater before the Senate can muster enough votes to meaningfully confront climate change. And probably Tampa and Charleston, too—two other cities that last week's National Climate Assessment placed at maximum risk from rising sea levels.

Even as studies proliferate on the dangers of a changing climate, the issue's underlying politics virtually ensure that Congress will remain paralyzed over it indefinitely. That means the U.S. response for the foreseeable future is likely to come through executive-branch actions, such as the regulations on carbon emissions from power plants that the Environmental Protection Agency is due to propose next month. And that means climate change will likely spike as a point of conflict in the 2016 presidential race.

Since Miami will never be underwater due to GW, this is a good thing.

You betcha. By this time tomorrow the water will be up to Jacksonville!

Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud

Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century.

From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.

Actually, the sea is going to rise over the next thousand years. And fall. And the climate will change.

And us little humans? We couldn’t affect any of that one bit if we tried!

All this is simply a plan to siphon money off the low information public. At that, they may succeed.

They can take the money and claim victory for something that is not going to happen regardless. It is like stomping your foot to keep the elephants away.

This report said that the east coast would be in danger in TWO HUNDRED YEARS, something the panic-promoters in the media fail to mention.

Does anyone think there will be a United States of America in two hundred years?
We have no reason to worry about climate change when civil war is a much more imminent threat.

Maybe, with a little luck, California will be completely submerged too.

Klimate Klux Klan.

Perfect. Now we need to repeat it often enough so the media will know, although, of course, they would never repeat that phrase. Say it loud enough and often enough and Libs will get the picture.

This makes the assumption that if Miami floods, the reason is “Climate whatever” and that human intervention can have a meaningful effect. Is there another possible cause that these alarmists prefer not to talk about?

Miami has, for many years, been tapping the Biscayne Aquifer for drinking water. When you take too much water out of an aquifer, land subsidence is a frequent development. Miami is a growing city with insufficient sources of water and this is not derived from ‘climate x!

So...when Miami’s under water, you can tell us “I told us so.”

In the meantime, we don’t want to pay extra fees and taxes that are supposed to make the weather change.
