Democrat Senators are reportedly working on legislation to abolish the First Amendment
National Pastors Conference

Posted on 05/23/2014 7:45:39 AM PDT by jsanders2001

I was contacted yesterday by a good friend of mine who is a pastor attending the National Pastor's Conference this week. Ted Cruz was there and he said that there are 40 some odd Democrat Senators that have been working on legislation to alter or abolish First Amendment rights. I would guess from his tone that they are trying to get rid of right wing dissent and put the screws down on talk radio and other online sources. This was from someone I know very well and trust. He would not make something like this up. Anyone else heard about this?

Nothing new here. The left has been trying to undo the Constitution and Bill of Rights even before the ink was dry on the paper.

They won’t be so open about it. They will find a way to do it by passing nice-sounding legislation that has the same effect.

But why bother with abolishing it - just ignore it like they do with other inconvenient constitutional limitations on what they want to do.

I want to say he said 46 of them. Yeah I know getting rid of the Constitution is the lib / progressive wet dream but this is a guy who was there and heard Cruz say it.

Abolish may not be the proper word; maybe remove the protections using deceptive legalese; same end result though.

The Bill of Rights is the American people’s first line of defense against a tyrannical DemocRAT Party government. America better wake up. It may already be too late. There are a lot of DemocRATS out there right now that are “openly gay” about saying that “communism works.” I can’t agree with them because I’m a big FREEDOM guy and don’t care at all about living as a slave to the government. That’s not the way freedom works.

I think it’s time for the whole herd of bears to wakeup. We cannot let this stand; not with the current extremely corrupt administration we have right now who will use whatever evil tactic they can come up with to get their way...

Passing back-door legislation carries its own risks, you know. The Constitution, being a very malleable and plastic document (at least in the eyes of its “re-interpreters”), may sometime in the future, be found to have rather different underlying meanings that were somehow missed for many decades already.

The changes proceeding from such a strict reading of the Constitution would be a highly disruptive revolution.
