I don’t even know what the prevalence of “pill” taking is. There must be an awful lot of non “pill” taking yet if abortion and single birth mothers are any clue. Anyhow, a measure which was invented for married people who wanted to slow down their birthrate, has turned into one of many escapes from responsibility for single people.
It’s, for unmarried women, about 20% are on the pill by CDC. More use different methods of contraception
Married women figure into trends as well

That started to change 40 or 50 years ago. While that still leaves decades of American history when Indians were portrayed negatively, and while mass media today doesn't seem to have much to say about Native Americans one war or the other, it was a long time ago that television, say, presented an overwhelmingly negative portrait of American Indians.
FWIW, I notice that Bruce Allen is the brother of Sen. George "Macaca" Allen. If the GM's brother had been a Democrat maybe Harry Reid & Co. just might feel differently about this.
Indian raids into Texas from Oklahoma/Indian territory were very real and common before the land rush.
