I wouldn’t use “His Excellency” either. It was the appellation given to Geo. Washington when he became president although he evidently thought the title to be too imperious.

A simple “der Fuehrer” or maybe “Il Douchebag” fits the kenyan much better.

That's right! Some wanted to crown GW as King of the U.S.A.

(GW deserved it but I'm not sure about his progeny.)

Gen. Washington vetoed every title & encomium the Congress tried to shower him with, finally suggesting that “Mister President” would be the most appropriate form of address.

One senator wanted to call him “Your Mightiness”.
